Ouch, I don't think that'll be happening any time soon. Thanks.

I find it funny that he thinks he deserves to make so much money when he's never made the Pro Bowl. Although, I guess he sees how much money the FO throws around and figures he might as well dip his giant hand in the honeypot too.

So I asked here at work what the real scoop is and apparently Dock (well, his agent I suppose) is asking for serious money. As in he wants to be the highest paid offensive lineman (includes tackles, not just guards) in the NFL. The market is apparently a little cool for him so the Skins expect he'll lower his demands.

Anyhow, that's the latest

LOL that's a joke, does anyone here want to make him the highest paid lineman in the league??

I say let the market decide his price and go from there.

Apparently, and this could just be the agent trying to play serious hardball (probably is), his thinking is the rest of the offensive line is considerably older and he is potentially the future leader of that line for years to come so he feels that he should be rewarded as such. And he feels that, and this is where the Redskins unfortunately are probably to blame, if the Redskins can make other guys on that team the highest paid at their position (we all know who he is talking about) in the league, then why not him.

I'm positive his demands go down. The impression I got is just that it's his agent seeing what happens if he asks for the moon

I don't think we need to overpay for Dockery, we need to pay a fair market price and if someone else wants to give him a ridiculous contract, oh well.

The Cards just let Leonard Davis walk. He's a little on the heavy side, and never reached his potential. But perhaps a fresh new start will help him. He would probably come cheap too.

Resigning Pucillo could be an option. Theres plenty of starting caliber Guards every year who slip under the radar. Pucillo might be one, but there are probably a few more in FA.

Make him a good reasonable offer, and try to accomodate him within reason. If that's not in the cards.......see ya'

Re: Should Dockery Be Re-signed Before Free Agency Starts (next Friday)

We had one of the best offensive running attacks in the NFL last year. We gave up almost the fewest sacks last year. Why would we mess that up? Pay him and move on. If they didn't mess around during the season we would not be at this point.

Samuels is on record begging for Dock to be back.

I just don't see good things for our future if we leave via free agency.

Its more of a morale / chemistry issue in the locker room.

Gibbs always preaches "core" Redskins. Dock never says a word and shows up to play with constant improvment......

So I guess you're in favor of making him the highest paid OL in the league?

I'm not sure what he's asking or what we're offering. He should make at least at much as Randy Thomas. Dock is younger too. Not sure what the hold up could be. They are being very hush hush about it. Maybe we should relax and see what they do first.

Does anyone know why its taking so long???

I'm guessing you didn't read all the posts here... he's reportedly looking for a monster deal. Monster as in highest paid OL in the league.

he's not nearly a good as thomas. he can't pull at all. it's taking so long because dock's already said he's going to test the market, and the "market" hasn't opened yet.
