Re: Bram Weinstein: stay put at No. 6
I would think either Alan Branch or Adrian Peterson, when the Browns signed Jamal Lewis it made every other pick in the top ten more valuable, much more valuable. I think there will be several teams looking to move into that 6th spot now, please stop dealing with Denver Joe Gibbs, you always give them the goods and they dont even have to take you to dinner.

Also, I'm not so sure that the Browns still won't take him. They only signed Lewis to a 1 year contract, so he's obviously not in their long term plans, and they don't seem to be in love with Droughns anymore.

Re: Bram Weinstein: stay put at No. 6
A different spin on things. With a coaching staff that has Joe Bugel, and Gregg Williams, the redskins are very effiecient at being able to groom mid level talent based on draft positon to great results. ie Dockery, Captain Choas Chris Cooley, Montgomery.
That being said, the more second and third round picks we get will probably translate into a starter, not to mention a possible pro bowl mention. To many holes to draft this high. Lets utilize this staff that knows how to get the best out of there draft talent. |

Why I don't want is for the Skins to get fooled by the Giants' "interest" in Bly. Because I think their interest is a bunch of bull. They just want to scare the Skins into thinking they want Bly to drive the price up. Skins need to call their bluff

Re: Bram Weinstein: stay put at No. 6
I am starting to say no to Bly and trade Denver the 6th pick for their 1st,2nd and both 3rds along with a late rounder! Springs will be ok or trade him to and get someone in the draft!

Re: Bram Weinstein: stay put at No. 6
Im with you, I have never understood the point of this trade, Bly is no better than Springs. If corner is that big of a deal we can wait one year and use are first or second round pick next year on one, Im sure Shawn has atleast one more year left in him.

Re: Bram Weinstein: stay put at No. 6
Even if we do the trade for the picks we'll get, what, two additional picks? Now, I've heard the argument that we need depth and we could use the additional picks, and we do. But we're going to go to camp with some players on the depth charts anyway.
My point is, it's a gamble either way. You could draft two guys that still end up not panning out or could be no better than the back-ups we currently have, and get a top tier defensive lineman. |

Re: Bram Weinstein: stay put at No. 6
I'm not big on bly but he is as least as good as springs. and alot healthier. and it would be wonderful to recoup those picks. it would be alot better for the skins, and make draft day more interesting for me. i say just do it

Re: Bram Weinstein: stay put at No. 6
The sad thing is that were trying to trade our first round pick for our old third round pick, now thats a pretty bad front office.

It's a question that needs to be asked though. Assuming Springs is no longer with us, of Bly, Smoot, and Rogers, who is the nickel? |

Re: Bram Weinstein: stay put at No. 6
I believe Smoot was signed as the nickle but he could easily become #2 if Stonehands Rogers plays like he did last year...

The type of injury that Springs is working back from is what's concerning to me, coupled with his age.

Re: Bram Weinstein: stay put at No. 6
I see a lot of holes in his article..
1. It's nit-picky, but Bly is 29. 2. Above all we need quality players and depth. Making the trade adds a quality player and with the additional picks, adds depth. Accomplishes both goals. 3. So he thinks we'd be better than last year with Springs who has missed games virtually every season in the NFL, including most of last season and should have missed the last 4 of 2005 (muscle injuries only get worse and more frequent when you get older) and the #6 pick than with Bly, who has stayed healthy, plus additional picks where we can hopefully get Okoye which fills a need and also trade Springs for MORE picks? Isn't this contrary to what every 'expert' says? 4. I don't see an alternative other than 'just stand pat with what we have'. That puts a WHOLE lot of trust in the #6 pick coming in and being an immediate impact player.
