First of all last year he was supposed to be a backup.......didn't turn out that way. He was our #1 back after CP went down, and did a pretty damn good job. Nobody know's how CP is going to return this year after major shoulder repairs? And the fumble issue is a non-issue, easily fixed "AKA" Tikki, it's all in the RB technique. LB will be fine. Futhermore, he's not going anywhere it makes zero sense. He could easily be the go to back before it's all said and done. You can't put all your eggs in the CP basket coming off a major injury.

Re: Thoughts on Potential Draft Trade With Cleveland!!!
No thanks. Ladell is going nowhere period, we NEED the two back system and LB will be here. CP and LB equals a GRANDSLAM in the backfield!
Hopefully we are baiting all these fool reports to believe and write all this crap! If we do trade hopefully it's DOWN come draft day.

First of all we need him, so how could that possibly be the perfect time to trade him? What do you have a magic ball....his value will "NEVER" be higher? That makes no sense.

Re: Thoughts on Potential Draft Trade With Cleveland!!!
1) We just gave Betts an extension, and he is one of Gibbs' "core Redskins" and a "character guy." I don't think it would sit too well in the locker room if we shipped him off. We'd be trading a proven stud for potential talent. Not typical Skins behavior. Plus from what I understand Saunders/Gibbs are pretty set on the Betts/Portis combo, as they should be.
2) The combined contracts of Lloyd, Moss, ARE is $91M (potentially). So we're gonna have a #4 WR (Lloyd) with a $29M contract? 3) We've been involved in so much hearsay, at this point I think we're just lobbing rumors out there to keep other teams guessing. In the past the writing has been on the wall with the Skins: mortgage draft picks for overhyped free agents and pay them waaaay to much. It's different this year. 4) WE DESPERATELY NEED HELP ON THE D-LINE!! I know we'd get a 3rd round pick if this trade went through, and I know this is a deep draft for D-lineman, but the 1st rd/early 2nd is where all the talent is. In summary, PLEASE NO!

Re: Thoughts on Potential Draft Trade With Cleveland!!!
Please!! Let this draft be done already. All these trade rumors are getting to be quite crazy. One day we're trading up, the next day down, and no one has a clue. I'll be content to wait ans see what happens on draft day. At the rate these rumors are going, we're trading and drafting everybody available.

Re: Thoughts on Potential Draft Trade With Cleveland!!!
absolutely horrible trade. We dont address anything on the defensive side of the ball, and we lose our #2 RB?? that is absolutely ridiculous. Beside there is that thing again "Ladell is a core Redskin" that should tell you right now he is on the way out. I think this would be a HUGE mistake on our part. CJ is truely the best player available in the draft. Probably one of the most gifted WR to ever come out of the draft. I would be all for this deal if we could find a way to keep Betts. This would be different had we not given away every draft pick we have for this coming draft.
if they deal Betts, here is what we are stuck with : no true # 2 RB. No DL drafted. At least the Briggs deal gives a LB and a pick to get the DL. HUGE MISTAKE |

Re: Thoughts on Potential Draft Trade With Cleveland!!!
first off, his numbers from last season were terrific. he signed a 5 year contract, at a low number. this makes him very appealing to alot of front office people. at the most, his numbers could only rise a small amount this season. people look at betts as a stud right now. he has no where to go but down. if that makes no sense, then explain to me, when getting about 8-10 carries a game, his value will grow?

Re: Thoughts on Potential Draft Trade With Cleveland!!!
Could we replace Betts with Lloyd to make the deal happen?
Wouldn't 4 highly paid recievers be overkill especially when the defenisve line is of need of some help and the draft this year has a lot of DE's and DL's that could make an impact? |
