funny you said that considering i swear i have uttered this phrase for at least 15 years now....there is always next season. I am so sick of that. I am ready for a championship caliber team now. The future is now considering the age of most of the offensive coaching staff.....with that being said the skins need to draft someone with their pick that will immediately help us. As appealing as okoye is how raw is he? is he ready to step in and contribute now? if the answer is yes then by all means we need to draft him but if not i dont know....With the six pick all i am asking for is a player who can step in right now and contribute.

Re: Okoye Article In ESPN The Magazine

At 19 he is better than anyone else we have at DT (except possibly a healthy Griffin). Does this mean that he is at full potential? Absolutely not, but he can definately step in and contribute come September. How great would it be having a Pro Bowl beast along the line for a 16-17 year career?
Personally I'd rather trade down w/ Denver, pick up 2 extra picks and grab Carriker. With the way Okoye has been moving up mock draft boards the lowest we can go is probably 9 with Miami if we still want him.

Could you picture winning a Super Bowl, and not being allowed to drink? That would suck. I wouldn't be suprised if he was an impact player wherever he goes. All of the other sports have started pulling in these young players, why not the NFL?

It's silly to just want to win this year. That is something that has obviously not worked the last 5 years of trying it. It shouldn't be so ridiculous to build a team to win in three years.

Making excuses under the guise of wanting to win it every year just shows desparation and not pre-meditated strategy.

I rather follow a plan than just to take random roulette shots every year.

That's right. The front office operated bad in the recent years, it would seem that we would win every year, but the only thing we won was the dumb free agent race. Strategy and consciousness is all we need for the future.

"Okoye was still looking for any way in, so when Campbell asked if he was related to former Chiefs star Christian Okoye, the Nigerian Nightmare, Amobi said yes, even though he wasn't."

Sounds like he might have character issues.

I think that might be stretching it a bit don't you think. I wouldn't necessarily classify that as a "character issue"

I can't figure out why, but I have a sinking feeling that the Skins aren't going to draft Okoye.

Something in my gut tells me they're going to go in a direction none of us expected.

I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, good point. You're a wise one. You've learned a lot in your 100 years here on this earth.

The kid is 19, after 10 years of dominance, he still wouldn't have hit 30 yet, plus he has tremendous potential. I like him, so I say we go for him. I mean we're at the bottom of the barrel right now, there's no place to go but up, right?

Re: Okoye Article In ESPN The Magazine

I like this guy, and I always loved the way his father played "The Nigerian Nightmare". I still remeber reading an article about him in KIDS SI back in the early 90's.

This kid has real upside and maybe he is the way we should go in the upcoming draft. He could anchor our line for 10 years and only be 29!!
Amazing. I like the idea of Dline, but do you guys think GW would let him on the field for the first part of the season?
