would love to have him which means we have no chance. I am so lost at what we are doing. They must have a hat that they are picking names out of

I mean, I think they needed a qb to replace Brunell and Collins, too, but I thought Joe liked veterans. They're gonna go into the season with 2 young qbs and a vet? Or put Jordan on the practice squad. I don't like the move that much. It's not a totally bad pick, but I wish they had taken a lineman.

The general thought is Palmer has raw talent, just needs to be coached. But my question is, are we going to carry 4 QB's next year?????

No. Releasing Collins saves us 1.2 million. If this guy can prove worthy of a 3rd round QB option, we will free up some money for the DL. It seems clear that the FO has a plan for getting a free agent, someone from another team, or post June 1 cut to fill that void.

Sounds good to me, cause we need it.

I like! I would have threw a draft pick at him already, why not, we just threw away 3 picks, Maybe Palmer might be salvageable, but considering our needs I can't see a reason not to give him a shot?

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread

We took a QB, Carson Palmer's brother, at no. 205. Obviously, they are going by the "best player available" method now. Forget the DL. I give up on this FO. The Return of Gibbs experiment will go down in Skins history as a glorious failure.

That is what MOST SMART teams do, BEST PLAYER. Yes we need the D-line help.......But your outta your mind on the Joe Gibbs part!

I agree he's out of his mind on this one. How can anyone call Joe Gibbs part 2 a glorious failure because of who we picked from round 5-7????? That doesn't make sense at all. This draft will not define Gibbs in any measure.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread

jordan palmer
nfldraftcountdown

Strengths:
Has prototypical size...Was extremely productive...Team captain who shows some leadership ability...Tough, strong and relatively durable considering the beating he took at times behind a sub par offensive line...Accurate with good touch when he's not being pressured...Still has some upside...A lot of his weaknesses can be addressed with good coaching...You can't ignore the family history and pedigree.

Weaknesses:
Throws way too many interceptions...Field vision is questionable and he will force throws...Technique and mechanics are inconsistent and need a lot of work...Does not stand up to pressure well...Is not very mobile and will not hurt defenses with his feet...Arm strength is adequate but not special...He might be too easy going.

Notes:
Brother of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, who won the Heisman Trophy and is a former #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft...Nickname is "J.P."...Is not nearly the prospect that some make him out to be and a lot of that has to do with his bloodlines...Certainly has some physical tools to develop and he could thrive in the right situation but it's too much to expect him to be as good as his brother is.
