You can never have enough depth.

It's most likely just a depth signing, the Skins went hard after Butler a few years ago when he was a RFA, so I know they liked him then. Maybe they think he's an upgrade over Macklin.

Butler could be just a look and see before anyone else signs him because we had an interest in him a couple years ago. The Rams signed Mike Rhump and chose to let Butler go......Go figure.

I know they wanted him in the past and I guess they ended up getting their man for a lot less than before. The secondary must have been a huge weak spot for us last year in the coaches eyes. Between smoot and spring's injury history I can't blame em bringin in all these guys.

I think unfortunately this may be a case of extreme stubbornness. They didn't get him in 2004 so they've been relentless for the past 3 years that they had to get him at any cost. And they wouldn't rest until they did, not keeping in mind that time has passed and he's now older and has gone through some injuries since they first went after him.

Not too thrilled about this move, especially with the signing of Macklin.

You just don't want Ade's job threatened.

Admit it - you have a man crush on the Ade.

Could this mean that Springs is still on the trading block? Maybe.

We really should to address the DE situation and Schoebel would be great for that! But if we give up Springs who out of all of our #2CBs would we put on the Steve Smiths of the world? But if we could actually get pressure up front QBs would have less time; and the corners wouldnt have to cover so long... All in all with Springs age and injury history and the fact that we KNOW he wont be around much longer makes me want to pull the trigger on this deal

It may mean the end of Chip Cox.

That's great, we can never have too many guys trying-out for jobs to play in our secondary. Since our D-line is so stout against the run, and just awesome at getting preasure on the quarterback, I see why went after this guy. Yep, this makes all the sense in the world. And hey guys did you know that Wynn and Griffin are having car shows at Redskins Park. What?!?! Are you kidding me?!?!

What does the car show have to do with anything?

Would you prefer our guys pass the time in the offseason with dogfighting instead of car shows?

Oh I don't know, maybe his skills or just too good to worry about playing at a high level. So, therefor he doesn't have to worry about his job or anybody else's on the defense. He can just concentrate on his cars.
