I think the team has done an outstanding job of second day drafting the past few years. Not that I'd want to hitch my defense to the quick development of Golston and Mongomery, but when in two seasons you can produce 2 DTs, 2 LBs, a TE, and a solid backup QB from picks later than the 4th round, I think that really says a lot of good things about your scouting department.

I have nothing but good things to say about this team's college scouting department compared to the rest of the leagues' (generally awful). It's the pro scouting department on this team that puts this franchise in such a big hole.

Who's the solid back up QB? I thought we had Brunell.

It was great to see the defense fired up, especially for a pre-season game. If the defense can return to its 2005 form, we'll win some close games this season. Now for the offense, the starting team was pitiful. I wanted to barf every time they showed a close-up of Saunders.

Funny, this game looked like a 2004 - except we won.

There were some great signs on D as mentioned. We were playing an O that we should dominate & we did.

Did anyone see Hickman take the field?

Yeah, he was the one that knocked over Tim Rattay after he fumbled, leading up to Westbrook's TD. Number 75

I saw Smoot, I don't recall seeing Rogers, but I think he was out there.

Rogers was out there for a significant portion of time. And if you didn't notice him, that's a good thing for a CB. I thought he held his part of the field down decently.

I'm sure I saw #22 out there. I do think he saw limited action.

Re: The Offense Was Lousy, But the Defense...

I'm a bit concerned with our offensive line right now. I liked the way Jason threw the ball but I think we have to take a wait and see approach when it comes to the offense considering we didn't play ladell or portis at all. Those 2 guys will open up our passing attack.

Defensively we looked great. Really am impressed with what I saw there but like someone else already said the Titans weren't playing Vince Young. Landry, Rocky, Springs, Golston and the Defensive line looked really good.

Totally agree about the O line. I'm very concerned. They looked terrible.

What was the problem there? Jansen missed a few blocks that got Jason Pressured a few times. That worries me because I was hoping that was the side that was strong. I hope they can sure up the left side with Wade and Samuels playing together. The Rookie looked ok, but I don't think I would have left Jason in there that long to take a beating from the Rook getting burned.

Oh and Brunnel LOOKED AWFUL!!! I used to like the guy but he got old fast.

This is being talked about in a different thread, but it concerns me that JC was so easily attacked, and that he over threw a few throws, AND that he didn't protect the ball more. If you see a guy coming for you, fold and duck.. don't throw into no man's land and then fight for your life. I know this is a growing stage for him, but it bothered me. I think we are missing something there. JC is our guy and he needs time but he also needs to understand when to fold and protect. He's going to get killed if he keeps up with what he was doing. Most importanly it's up to our O line to not let a guy have a shot at JC like they did so many times. Our O line needs to be ON!!! They were not.. period.
