We need Kendal. Todd Wade is not a gaurd, and never will be a guard. This was a solid and neccessary pick-up in my opinion.

Yeah, Whitticker really could have been the ace in the hole here. It's really unfortunate that he got hurt.

Besides, what guarantee do you have that said 4th or 5th rounder would fare any better than Todd Wade?

I mean, looking back Gibbs and Company had plans to replace Dockery with Whitticker, who I'll give you by reports tore it up in practice but couldn't stick with the lowly Packers, and Wade, a guy who was changing positions. So to say all was well at LG until Whitticker went down isn't exactly accurate.

Anyone know what becomes of Whittiker?
I know he's cut and has a high ankle sprain...I think those are 6 week injuries.
Any chance of the skins picking him back up week 3 or so?
Or are we set at guard?

What are your thoughts?

I was surprised they cut Whitticker, could they have put him on the IR or do you think they were hoping to pick him up later?

I don't think we can judge this move until we see Kendall on the field. If he comes out and contributes, I bet most of us here will forget about what we gave up for him.

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)

It just comes down to the fact that some people aren't going to be happy with what the Redskins do. Even if they win the Super Bowl, that will probably also be debated and questioned as well.

But may I ask, how many front office NFL teams have any of us worked for? If some of us are geniuses at this, why aren't we employed in one of these front offices? Stop complaining and just watch the freakin' football games.

I was waiting for this argument. We don't know anything, none of us are employed in the NFL, therefore we cannot question anything that goes on in the NFL, including, but certainly not limited to scouting, draft picks, and free agency. Brilliant. Under this argument you don't vote for President because you haven't been President before and therefore you don't have a clue, so you cannot bitch.

What a pointless analogy! There is a fine line between questioning moves and just complaining about stuff you cannot control because it's the "in" thing to do. I mean, I can complain about what the Redskins didn't do in 1993, but ya know, it's in the past. You don't still wear a mullet and acid washed jeans do you? j/k

Well, it really wasn't a pointless analogy. I cannot control it so I can't question it? Under your theory of being a fan, fans cannot question personell moves because they are not employed in the NFL, and they have never been employed in the NFL, therefore who are we to question decisions. Under that theory, you never can question a team's moves, your job is merely to sit back, be a fan, and be optimistic. If that works for you great, keep doing it. I however do not see the problem with fans, on a fan based website, engaging in open and honest debate about front office decisions. Under your logic of never looking back to analyze how things went wrong, no one would ever get fired because we should be optimistic about the future, the past is in the past, and who are we to question anything? I don't think its pessimism (sp?) I think its open and honest debate regarding highly questionable front office moves. Even the most optimistic of fans will agree that this front office/coaching staff have made some highly questionalbe moves. I do like some of their moves: signing Smoot and upgrading all around a DB was one of the major ones. And we are questioning the past few years, not since 1993, although Poison did rock the house!

LOL!! I liked the Poison Rocked the house thing! Listen, I understand what you're saying. And, by no means am I saying we are not free to question the moves by our front office. Certainly, our front office has made some very questionable moves. All I'm saying is, let's try to enjoy this team and not worry so much about what was done in the past, but what the the team is doing to make this a winning team now. We can't live in the past, and we're not promised the future. We have to live in the now, and right now, I think the present day front office and coaching staff has done what they can to give us the best chance at being a winning team this year. But, like what alot of us have already stated, it comes down to seeing how it translates on the field. I feel much better about this team this year, than what I did last year. I think we will see a team that is more determined from the ground up than what we did last season.

Good point . If the " we have not been F/O imployed " , than we cannot praise the F/O for moves , because we have never been GM's . Trading a 3rd & 4th for Duckett was a bad move ,,, ditto for Loyd . Fletcher , Blades , Golston and others have been good moves .

Well I don't necessarily agree with the second paragraph. As for the first paragraph, I absolutely 100% agree. There's no question there are people on this site who don't know what the hell to do when the Redskins make a smart off the field move, or win on the field. I suppose it's easy to always expect gloom and doom, that way you're never really disappointed I suppose.

I suppose it's just that some people don't want to get their hopes up, and I can understand that in a way. However, at the same time, all the gloom and doom makes me want to put on some emo and cut myself...LOL!
