I too enjoyed NASCAR more in the past. I continue to watch with interest, but it just isn't the same for me personally. NASCAR has forgotten it's heritage and has become generic. Drivers, crewman, owners, etc., are no longer allowed to express their emotions for fear of offending someone. Corporate dollars now rule, not Chevy, Ford, or Chrysler. As you stated, the cars all look alike and they are all pretty much the same mechanically. It reminds me of IROC for crying out loud! No longer is it up to a mfr. to ""one up" the other with a faster car. NASCAR now mandates vehicle design and specifications. But alas, I still watch. I typically fast forward the DVR through most races now until a race actually "breaks out," but I still watch.
