I would expect nothing less from the league's least classy franchise. Their owner is a drunk, their coach is a punk, and their QB is an arrogant pretty boy.

And if they keep winning, their fans will start to hate them.

Re: Patriot Helmet Stickers

Not everyone had the stickers. Most of the Chargers didn't (I think Cromartie did, though). The Broncos kept all three stickers (27, 29, and the black 21). I can't remember all the teams that did or did not have the 21 stickers. I've watched a number of the games on the Ticket today, though, and it's not just the Patriots, though they conspicuously do not. It seemed like it was about 50/50, since it seemed like in a lot of games one team had the 21 stickers and the other didn't. Probably a little better than 50/50 though.

Re: Patriot Helmet Stickers

Flipping through the teams currently playing:

Browns: Yes
Jets: No

Chiefs: Yes
Broncos: Yes

Seahawks:Looks like most do, Kerney definitely, Trufant just scored and he does.
Cardinals: No, but Antrel Rolle does, Kurt Warner does.

Patriots: No
Steelers: Yes

49ers: Yes
Vikings: Yes

Looks like it might be optional on an individual basis. Most teams seemed to have decided as teams, but most Cardinals players don't have the stickers.

The only two teams that I saw that didn't were the Pats and the Giants. In any event, does it really surprise anyone that when the Patriots are one of the few teams to not do it? I don't mean to make it a bigger deal than it is, but I have grown to despise the Pats. It has nothing to do with their dominance (which I respect), it has to do with their utter lack of class. Between Belichick cheating on his wife, Belichick cheating in the game, Brady dumping his pregnant girlfriend for a supermodel, Belichick shoving reporters, Belichick publicly denigrating Mangini, Brady being an arrogant a**hole in press conferences, Belichick running up the score just to boost his own ego, Roosevelt Colvin doing the Lights Out dance after the victory over the Chargers in the playoffs, Jabar Gaffney mocking the Eagles' wings, etc. I hate that team with a burning passion.

Re: Patriot Helmet Stickers

Yeah, I don't dislike any team any more for not wearing it. As emotional as that MNF game was last Monday with Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Willis McGahee all paying tribute, the Ravens aren't wearing the 21 sticker tonight. I know we're all emotional over Sean, but as long as the Redskins are properly honoring him I'm okay. I'm not worried about anyone else except our guys.

Re: Patriot Helmet Stickers

I'm sure to some extent they're saying "Why not the same for Marquise Hill?" But, as cold as this may sound, a drowning accident in the offseason is not perceived the same as being murdered during the season. Not because it's less important or significant. But because of the timing of it. The NFL is at the forefront of sports news in the fall (compared to the spring time) and so an in-season death is just going to be perceived as more impactful, and especially when it's a sudden and senseless death like Sean Taylor's.

And Hill was not nearly as well liked or important to his repective team as the pro bowler Taylor. As you say, it's a lot different to be shot and killed during the season as well.

Well I wouldn't say he was not nearly as well liked. I'm sure he was very well liked by his teammates. I've never heard otherwise.

Well, he was well liked by his team, but not a lot of the league, like Taylor. That was my point on that. Even the casual fan knew Sean Taylor, but only the die hard pats fans knew Hill.

Daseal, take it easy, I am not devalueing a life here. Just pointing out why the #21 was on everyone's helmets but #91 was not. No need to get offended over nothing.

Jsarno, I disagree. You can't compare or rank tragedies, but obviously a player being murdered in his own home on a Sunday night is going to strike a chord across the league. It is not about popularity at all, would love to know how you came to find out that "even the casual fan knew Sean Taylor." I guess you mean after his passing.
