Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
At least he made it close everybody. It was off by a matter of inches, not feet. Yes, the young kid wilted under the pressure. But think, it could've all been over before that after the first half. We lucked out on the Collins fumble-ruled-incompletion in the 2nd quarter, which could've put our deficit at three touchdowns. There were numerous pass rushes by SEA that could've resulted in blindside fumbles or, at the least, drive-killing sacks (not that there weren't a fair share of those; I'm just stating that by a stroke of luck (Sean?) there could've been more but weren't).
Bottom line is: how could a missed field goal worth 3 points loom as more of the deciding factor than piss-poor pass protection the first 3 quarters of the game when several potential scoring drives were snuffed out? I agree with the authors of the posts on this topic who thought not scoring a TD instead of settling for a possible field goal was more the momentum-killer. Sure, we had hope and promise, but the tale of the tape will show our blocking was pathetic and the single most momentum-killing aspect of this game. The lack of protection killed momentum for us for THREE WHOLE QUARTERS, not just 5 minutes as with the errant field goal. |

LOL. That's why I'm glad I never want to live in a place and make weather decisions for a town littered with fecal stains. It has to be the biggest eyesore of the major cities and definitely the most dismal area in history. Downpour or no downpour, we probably still lose.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
Yeah, I feel like that would've been a pretty huge momentum swing... 3 tds in 3 minutes.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
I disagree. It should have never come to a FG. We get a gift on the kickoff, get a 1st and 10 inside their 20 up by 8 and we can't put them away. Our offensive line could not open holes for our RB's or protect QB. Plain and simple our O-line did not get it done against a godd but not great Defense. Our O-line made their defense look great and they are not. Our Kicker has some responsibility but out O-line has more of the blame.

I can't disagree with that. Our O'line has to be accountable for not getting it done. However, going against that D-line, hell, that front 8 is pretty good...and with our injuries I won't put it all on them. You got to call plays that are to your advantage, and I didn't understand the playcalling all game...maybe that's just me. |

cooley dropping the ball on that same series was horrible. He catches that and 75% we get that TD. 21-13./

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
That missed field goal was a huge momentum shift. We were soo close to making a touchdown on that drive too.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
I'm not going to blame Suisham for that field goal kick. It was a momentum shift, but we had 60 minutes to pound the Seahawks. We didn't do that. We only played for like 3 minutes the entire game. 57 minutes of the game was all Seahawks.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
So, who are you going to blame? Yes we had 60 minutes to "pound the Seahawks". But we only had 7 minutes to put them away if some one had made that field goal.

Why are you so insistent on blaming someone?
