You would think they'd preface that by saying "This is all pure speculation."

The media has wandered so far from sensible reporting to sensationalism that it's hardly worth getting the information any more.

I just hope he stays around in some capacity.

Honestly, I'm pretty upset about this news.

Re: HOLY SHIT, Joe resigns

This was about the last thing I expected - I was certain he was going to be back.

What a blow to this organization.

By the way he was talking yesterday this doesn't shock me at all. He never said he was coming back and you could just see it. He's 67 and this is a very demanding job. He wants to be with his family and I don't blame him one bit. Thanks Joe for getting the team back to respectability.

Well, you knew he was going to leave at some point. I like continuity...I'm all for Greg Williams becoming the head coach and Saunders staying on as the leader of the O.

Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

For what we are likely to pay for whoever it is, i would like him to have a winning record as a HC in this league, with a long track record. So Cowher or Schotti.

Forget Schotti. He's not coming back here again. He'd be foolish to do so.

Re: HOLY SHIT, Joe resigns

Personally, I'm happy about it. I want a younger ambitious coach. Gibbs helped stabilize the franchise a bit, but didn't build too much for the future. We can finally get back to normal discussion here and have people say their feelings.

reposted from the other thread.

Change can be good, but it isn't seamless. Very rarely does a brand new coach come into an organization and have them ultra-competitive the same season.

2008 could be a long, long season.

Wade Phillips on line one to speak to you.. Jon Gruden is on hold..

Seriously, I had turned the corner a little bit on my "Joe must go" stance, but I'm not heartbroken. I just hope we keep Saunders as the primary playcaller.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

I am REAL disappointed about this!!! just when you thought it could not get worse. I wonder if Greg takes the helm?

Nothing on Redskins.com as of yet, nor on JLC's blog.
