I thought her performance was average. She was obviously coached to make sure she got her points across which led to her curious decision to brush over some of the moderator's questions. When she did answer questions, it seemed to catch Biden off-guard as it seemed he wasn't expecting her to do so. Ultimately, we'll see if people remember more what she said or what she was asked. Biden was solid. I think he's always solid. He says stupid shit sometimes (as I noted a couple of posts ago) but that shouldn't be magnified over his experience and credentials. I thought he had opportunities to go for the kill on several instances but either he decided to take the high road or is waiting for another time. Or he didn't realize he had those opportunities. Both sides fudged or ignored the facts in some instances, which is unfortunate, but seemingly the norm at debates. The debates are for "oooh" and "ahhh" moments.

Re: Vice Presidential Debate Thread
So as most people said it was a pretty uneventful debate, and Palin didn't slip up. But for me that's pretty much a win for the Republicans. No one watched this to see Biden, either Palin was gonna eff up or not, and she didn't.
Although both sides had bullshit, Biden had alot less and had more substance. The problem with that, is that will not appeal to the typical retard American. Palin's BS about being an outsider and her stupid one liners will. It pisses me off that kind of stuff even flies.

Republicans on the one hand will gush over Palin because "she's refreshing" or "she's a true outsider", or "she will really change things". But then, she gets up on the stage, proves to the world that she has clearly spent a lot of time doing debate drills and honing her skills at avoiding the question -- and the Republicans praise her for being a really smooth politician. You gotta love it. Last edited by Beemnseven; 10-04-2008 at 07:23 AM. |

Yeah, I think she did fine. If she had handled herself like that in the Couric and Gibson interviews she wouldn't be in the position she's in: being ridiculed as a grade A moron.
I still didn't like her answers on a lot of things but she was at least capable of speaking high school level English this time. |

Re: Vice Presidential Debate Thread
I try to stay away from these political threads, but I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet.
Palin refered the the Constitution as "flexible" when it come to the laws that govern the office that she is running for. She even added "we will do whatever we have to". Does anyone else see a problem with that? I don't care for Biden either but I'm glad he put her in her place when he said "the Constitution is very clear". |

Re: Vice Presidential Debate Thread
Anyone else see her wink at the camera within the first 20 minutes of the debate? That was kind of hot.

Just what I want, a potential VP winking at the nation. I was waiting for a stripper poll to pop up from the floor.
