Re: Springs Released

Thanks for the couple of games you played in and those few interceptions you didn't drop.

He had the potential to be a great corner for us, but couldn't stay healthy or committed I think. Physically, he looked huge for a CB, but somehow was fragile. I think it was more mental than physical.

Re: Springs Released

Sign Dockery, Draft A. Smith for Right Tackle, then switch him with Samuels about 2 years down the line when he is getting better and Samuels is declining.

i wish we could have traded springs. someone would have traded a mid-round pick for him. now that springs is gone will the skins get a conditional pick?

He wasnt a free agent, so we dont get anything.

No that's not how it works. We cut him, we didn't lose him via free agency which is what conditional picks deal with.

Maybe the pony can compete with Suish for the kicking position. :smashfrea

Re: Springs Released

He is a great corner but I question his heart the past couple of years. It seemed we had guys playing with alot more injuries while he sat back on the bench watching people like Smoot strugle to get up after making a tackle. It just seemed like it was all about him and the money he was getting he should have done more to get out on the field.

Re: Springs Released

Springs was a great player for us...but it was just getting rediculous with the injuries. He can't be counted on anymore for the long haul. He missed like 8 games from a calf bruise. Good luck Shawn.

Re: Springs Released

Shame to see Springs go, but it makes sense. He's old and we need to infuse youth into the offensive line. We've got the space to do it now.

Re: Springs Released

Springs definitely got a bad rap with some fans. He had some very good years for us. Best of luck to him.

Re: Springs Released

Those of us who faced criticism when we voiced our dissatisfaction with the release of Leigh Torrence instead of Shawn Springs are now justified.

Why? SS was the better of the two, Hall is as good or better than Torrence, and had Torrence been kept Haynesworth may not have been an option.
