Why not come back? He only "tainted" his legacy in our eyes, and it's only temporary. After he makes the hall we will remember all the good, not the Jets season. So why not come back...not like he can fall any farther.

Re: Favre a free agent

Im ready for Farve to just go away and retire. That said, he would make the Vikings a favorite in the NFC. If my boy Harvin can keep his act together, they can be very dangerous with the right QB. Not a dynasty though because Farve is just about done....

A Quarterback wouldn't even make Minnesota a respectable offense. I mean, they don't have any sort of semblance of a passing game as is, and their running game isn't even dependable. They get the explosive play every now and again, but they need to upgrade at three or more positions to have even an average offense.

completely agree.
Sure Favre would be an upgrade, but that just speaks to what junk they have behind the center right now than it does Favre's talent level. They need to make a splash in the FA market next year for a talented QB, or make a trade (maybe their #1 and #3) for a talented QB. Time to STOP accepting mediocrity. To their credit, they have gotten 2 games better every year since 06. (6, 8, 10 wins last year) But what have they done to make themselves a contender? If A.P. goes down, they are done.

Favre was a good upgrade for Minny 2 or 3 years ago, not now. I don't know why Minnesota continues to go for these mediocre at best QBs. They are wasting away their top defense and A.P.

You could say the same about us. We had a better ranked D (4th) than Minn. (6th).

Re: Favre a free agent

I'm all about Jason Campbell as our QB. If Snyder offers Favre a contract after pursuing Cutler then Sanchez, then he might as well just cut Campbell loose. I really hope that Campbell has a monster year, then plays some serious hardball with Snyder when it comes to a new contract.

I hope he has a great year too...but playing serious hardball with Snyder will not work in our benefit. We do not want to over pay for anyone. You are indirectly implying that Snyder deserves disrespect, and Campbell didn't deserve to be on the trading block...but fact is, while I am a Campbell fan, the way he ended last season invited all this talk. You can't blame Snyder for wanting better at the most important position on the field. At least Snyder understands the importance of the QB position.
That being said, I fully expect a great season from Campbell, if not, I will be calling for his head come seasons end. No more excuses.

And Here IT is:

Somehow, this is unbelievable to me.

Does this mean that John Madden could return as well? LOL.

Not surprising at all to me.

I like Favre the football player just fine, but the dude is a ridiculous narcissist.
He's like a attention vampire. If he doesn't get to feed on enough of the spotlight he dies.

That seems to be the case. I don't really care what he does as long as I don't have to hear about it every time I watch a sports program. BabyCake does have a point though, it would make the games between the Vikes and Packers more interesting.
