I think most of your issues will be cleared up, we had tons of people playing teams that are no longer on the team. During the preseason they let anyone/everyone try to prove themselves on teams, most of whom arent ever gonna see the field in a real game.

Great thread though, Im gonna go with defensive backs. Gtripp wrote a great article recently that touched on this, so Im really just agreeing. Hopefully Rogers injury is ok, and he can contribute. Smoot is an adequate nickel corner IMO, but if either Rogers/Hall gets hurt, Smoot as a starter would hurt. I also dont think Tryon/Barnes/Westbrook(in that order) are ready to contribute either. Hopefully we can stay healthy, if so I feel like our defense should create lots of problems for our opponents.

Depth...our 1's are fine, but as we saw from preseason our 2nd units stink compared to other teams

What playing against Jacksonville's 1st stringers? We are much younger and alot deeper than we were last year IMO.

Here are my three biggest concerns now that the season is starting:

1. Do I have enough beer for the game.
2. Are my wings cooking to fast.
3. I hope my TV doesn't go on the plink.

My biggest concern for week 1 is that ARE is listed as #2 receiver on the depth chart.

I don't think the depth chart is final, if you check in Redskins.com and the Washington Post there are stories talking about Kelly as the likely #2.

My biggest concern on the defensive side of things is - the secondary. I think in order for the corners to play well, they are going to need Landry to step it up this year and make plays.

My biggest concern on the offensive side of things is - consistency in the passing game. Converting 3rd downs will be key in determining how many wins the redskins get this season.

Re: biggest concerns going into the new season:

Speaking of concerns, who's returning punts for us this year? CBSsports posted one of their rapid reports today saying:

Quote:
During special teams practice, WR Antwaan Randle El, WR Santana Moss and CB Carlos Rogers took turns returning punts. WR Devin Thomas was not part of the punt return team.
If I have to live through another year of ARE returning punts, I may :vomit:

I saw in the Times that it was ARE, Moss, and Hall. That makes more sense, but Smith came out and said today that ARE is the number 1 punt returner.

I dont get this, he is horrible at returning punts. I'd love Moss to return fulltime but cant risk an injury.

Re: biggest concerns going into the new season:

This is an easy question for me.

Will Jason Campbell blow my mind in more good ways or bad ways this year?

Last year he toyed with my mental state like a Yo-yo.

If he has a real positive step forward we are going to mess teams up.
