Re: Mosely: Campbell to start

I think it's the right call to stick with Campbell. I know I'm a JC supporter so some will say 'it figures' but continuing to play Campbell accomplishes a few things.

It gives us the chance to continue to evaluate him for us and his potential value. The fact remains, if there's not a new CBA or an extension of the existing one, he's going to be a RFA this offseason so we need to determine his open market value. For some of you that think he's a backup, then maybe a 4th or 5th round tender. For those that think he could be an effective starter, maybe a 2nd or 3rd round tender. He's a mid level starting QB, probably in the David Garrard/Matt Cassell category but you know what, they both got paid by someone!

Ridiculous as some may claim it to be, he's still got the potential to be a good QB for us. He didn't become 'terrible' until the Tampa game and even then he led us back to victory. I'd love nothing more than to see him look like he's having fun on the football field. He looks miserable when he's out there. Thinking too much, reacting too little, being a robot. I hope he does exactly what he said on Lavar's show and comes out slinging.

He still gives us the best chance to win. While Collins had ONE pretty pass he also played like a backup. Threw 3 passes that got batted at the line, fumbled, mishandled a shotgun snap, showed zero mobility, etc. He is what he is. There's a reason he's been a backup his entire career! Why some fans think he's a gold nugget that nobody has yet uncovered is baffling to me.

As a franchise, there's ZERO benefit to leaving Campbell on the bench.

Collins is horrible. I'm kinda glad he played the way he did so that no one would be saying that Collins is the answer.

All good points. However, I would counter that with if he is an RFA next off-season and we could trade him maybe it's best to leave on the bench before his value drops anymore

Sorry man but at 2-4 vs some of the worst teams in the league there hasnt been much benefit to him being on the field either. Not all his fault but he has missed wrs that were in position to make plays. hence the benching

I am not disagreeing with the benching last week, simply saying it's the right move to put him back in as the starter next week.

I don't know what to say. I'm tired of watching JC play Brunell ball.

I wish three years could progress this team somewhat.

Re: Mosely: Campbell to start

Jim Zorn you got your money now just call it a day. We and you know that you are finished as the coach of the Redskins. Synder is giving VC 1 last shot at turning the season around before he fires you. Because when you go VC will surely be right behind you. We need JC to play better from here on out because we need stability at the QB position. We dont have time to be looking for the next Franchise QB, we need O-Line help.

Re: Mosely: Campbell to start

While Jason Campbell was named the starter this week, sources confirmed to Jason Reid of the Washington Post that Zorn has told backup Todd Collins to "be ready" on Monday night. This would seem to indicate that Zorn will be more than happy to bench Campbell if the QB struggles early on.

Saw this on ESPN, here we go again.

When Jason fumbles away the first half, we need to bring Colt Brennan in and start over! Brennan may be the future, at least unless we can draft Tebow or Bradford.

Remember, Jason Campbell is a MILLIONAIRE. Set for life. No sympathy here.

Favorite quotation from that Sack the Skins site?

It’s over,my relationship with my beloved Washington Redskins. The team I loved is no longer in DC. No longer in the NFL. No longer ... at all.

In fact, I am more of a real Redskin than ANY current person with the team, player or front office, etc.
That made me smile. Nothing like a little entertainment in a season of despair.
