Excellent, now if we just have a season in 2011 things will look up. I hope they don't get Locker though.

He plays DE but he has the speed to play OLB in a 34 D.

Question is: Do we move down in the first round to get him if Von Miller is gone?
Take DT Kendrick Ellis from Hampton in the 3rd round if we trade down. Switch him to NT.

Don't we get a compensatory 3rd round pick this year?

Atogwe besides being skilled, is a smart player. He would be the kind of player Gibbs would have signed, a smart player from Stanford who can play.

Scouts Inc.

Comment: Atogwe is a ball-hawking safety with a good feel for the game and good athleticism. He has the foot quickness to get good depth with his back pedal and the fluid hips to turn and run with receivers or to open and break on the ball in front of him or to the sidelines with a good burst. He has good route recognition and does a good job of reading the quarterback's eyes to get a jump on the ball. He is not a blow-up tackler but is not timid about inserting himself in run support and generally brings down the ball carrier well. He has still takes too many chances and can give up the big one to speed receivers and lacks the kind of top-end speed that can help compensate for mistakes.

That is a concern when it comes to playing Eagles.. Jackson and Maclin can and probably will burn Atogwe. On other hand, it's still a good signing though.

I like the signing. I thought Moore would turn out well and he still may....but when you get your chance you have to take advantage of it. Competition is a GOOD thing. Shannahan has shown he doesn't care what you get paid...you EARN your starts. Good move.

Does Atogwe have much left in the tank? I'm not too excited about this move. It seems like patchwork, using worn out patches.

Left in the tank? for crying out loud the guy is 29 going on 30. Think Ed Reed, Charles Woodsson, Troy Polamalu (turns 30 befor Atogwe, and a host of others who are very productive at this age.

I think behind and Reed and Charles Woodson, he's created more turnovers than any other defender in the NFL since '06.

So any details on how the salary is spread? If its a typical skins contract its all bonus, low yearly with the salary jumping towards the end(when he can be cut). Wouldn't be opposed to that.

Re: REAL football news - Skins sign Atogwe!

I have a feeling, not based on any new info just my opinion, that this signing is an indication that they want Barnes to focus on CB and are fully prepared (maybe prepared isn't the best word) that they won't be coming to a final agreement with Carlos Rogers and plan on moving on without him.

Again, just speculating here
