Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
I'd never say never. Look at favre. Of course this year or anytime soon he won't play elsewhere, but the colts have to draft a successor eventually, and if/when that successor is ready, manning might not be ready to give up football. Its POSSIBLE that Brady might be shown the door in a few years if Mallett develops well.

Most of the good 3-4 teams do NT by committee they carry atleast 3 NT's. Neild, Joe Joseph & Ian Williams I know they are all young but their full of energy.

It seems to still be the general impression of the Skins that they will chase after the big names in Free Agency whether of not they are a good fit for the team. After all, Dan Snyder is still the owner, so why wouldn't they? Don Banks is simply expressing a commonly held view of how the Skins operate, although the way they operate may have changed. Nevertheless, even he acknowledged that the Skins handled the draft differently last time. I don't think that the current Skins management will be viewed any differently by the general public (including national writers) than they were in the Ceratto era until it becomes so evident that a blind man could see it. That's just the way people are - we cling to our long-held impressions of others. Personally, I don't care what Don Banks thinks or writes about the Redskins. On the other hand, I'm not sold on the Shanahan/Allen era yet, either. |

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
He does at least acknowledge in the past it was a case of signing the wrong guys, and guys like Asomugha, Holmes, Jenkins, Cofield and Yanda aren't high risk players. And he does give the draft some credit too. But yeah overall I agree with there's a bitchy tone. Seems like a lot of writers go that route these days. I guess that's what sells.

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
^ The article is not that bad. I think the past/truth is a little hard to swallow for some.
The fact is Snyder/Ceratto did make those bad decisions and the Haynesworth/Mcnabb mistakes were not to long ago. They are still on the team. Non-Redskins football fans and the press don't give full credit to the fact Allen/Shanahan now run this team. Not Ceratto/Snyder. Some see 6-10 from last year and Snyder and think not much has changed. Things have changed, but it will take winning on the field to prove to them. Winning cures everything, especially in this case. |

He was the one whose stock dropped coming out of college with reports of him having stress fractures in his lower legs. Has he proved to be healthy? Does he fit into the scheme? If so, why not?
