Re: How bad will this trend get???

I have excelled in my job. I think I'm going to stop going to "voluntary" meetings that directly affect what I do until they give me a raise. And if that doesn't work, I'll stop showing up to work all together until I get the money I think I deserve. How long do you think that will last???

Pro athletes are disgusting. "I'm not happy with my multi-million dollar contract"...."I came in as an underdog, but have proven that I am a quality player, so I should make that kind of money now, as opposed to the contract I SIGNED." Whatever!!! I respect someone like Smoot who actually played through his rookie deal, then took the big money deal he wanted and had earned, even though it meant leaving the Redskins.

I know, I know. I have a HUGE problem with the money pro-athletes are paid. I just think a lot of them whine when they are getting paid more money than even the smartest people in this country will ever see.

The big problem is I dont get paid enough, Snyder needs to throw a little love my way lol.

Re: How bad will this trend get???

Please let's NOT coompare Boldin and T.O. - Owens signed his deal last year, when he thought he was one of the best WR's out there. Turns out he was right, and now he wants more? When you asked T.O. who the best receiver in the league was before his "trade" to Philly, he would have said himself. So Philly isn't the problem there - he created his situation.

Boldin has a better case, but is less likely to pull it off. He may be the best receiver on his team - but he may not. The "Rookie of the Year" in 2003 is nice, but it's 2005-06 now, and your team drafted another WR last year with the second pick. Fitzgerald is goinig to put up good numbers, and Bryant Johnson is pretty good as well. Since you can only throw so many passes in a game (and with Kurt Warner throwing them, a good portion are almost guaranteed to go to the other team), Boldin isn't going to be a 100-catch guy in the coming years. So, even though he is outperforming his contract, he isn't likely to see more money from the Cardinals - and when his contract does end, he won't have the stats to break out on the free agent market.

Re: How bad will this trend get???

Here is some more good news for us concerning TO.

"Don't want to alarm Eagles fans, but there are more and more signs wide receiver Terrell Owens' holdout could be a long one. A real loooooong one.

At a minicamp over the weekend, Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter warned that the Eagles could not count on T.O. being on the field this season. Another NFL general manager expressed a similar thought, saying he wouldn't be surprised if T.O. sat out the season.

Everyone knows T.O. is very strong minded, and right now his mind is set on landing a new deal, something the Eagles have given no indication they are willing to give. It's still early, but get ready for many more T.O. updates from now through training camp and into the season."

Most definitely! He has the money to spread it around.

Why not send some to all of us that defend him? (at least I do)
