Yeah, a coach is definitely a very reasonable idea. It wouldn't have been a player if it was a year long process unless a player is coming out of retirement.

Maybe Bobby Beathard is coming back as GM, who knows? Or, maybe Jack Kent Cooke is coming back from the grave to reclaim ownership of the Redskins! :-P

Seriously...I'm thinking maybe Rod Gardner has been traded. I dont' know if that warrants a "big announcement" or not, but it has been coming for a year now....

It's gotta be a player right? They released Hasselbeck, meaning they have 79 guys on the roster instead of the max of 80. So they have room on the roster to sign somebody. Trading Gardner for a player still wouldn't max us out on roster space. Signing Santana Moss to an extension wouldn't add a roster spot either. It must be a new player. Who the heck is out there that they are looking at?

I'm sure it's a player, but this has to be something that we have needed for a year now, according to the video.

So, if it's a player, what position have we not addressed either through free agency or the draft that we have been needing for a year now?

Either it's a suprise birthday party for Ray Brown, or Gardner had successful hand replacement surgery.

The Skins just signed Free Agent RB Brock Forsey (Dolphins). I certainly hope that is not their idea of a Big Announcement. Signing Ty Law to the veterans minimum contract until Rogers is ready would be a Big Announcement. Unlikly but it would be a Big Announcement.

According to the wire report on Hasselbeck's release (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?...nfl&id=2053294), the Skins also released wide receiver Jason Samples, so there's still another roster spot available, even with the signing of Forsey.

My best guess would be that they signed a defensive end, though. That's the one position that hasn't been addressed this offseason, though I can't immediately think of a defensive end that's available who would be worth making a big deal about.
