Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Verse II)
Lol, but the way the committee is set up he'll need to be on his best behavior to get playing time. Plus his character issues will allow him to be had possibly as late as the middle of day 3.

If Hightower is healthy hell yeah you bring him back. He runs very hard and is good all around. Helu makes a great change of pace back in this scenario. If Hightower has lost a step because of the knee injury I think we have to add another starter to the roster.
I'm not confident in Royster. He strikes me as a backup.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Verse II)
...even w/ a healthy Hightower or other legit starter added to the roster I'd like to see Helu get equal carries. Helu has the potential to be very very good. When I watched him (live) in Seattle last year I saw him do some things you just don't see every Sunday.

Running backs?
We drafted two and traded for another last year. WTF would we waste picks on a RB this year?

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Verse II)
Shanny is genius when it comes to RBs. If we draft one or two later late rounds or sign UFA rookie and then one of them plays well enough, then we can trade Royster for maybe 4th round pick or something. I would say that we also could trade Helu or Hightower, but I absolutely love them both and I would hate to see them go but if one of them gets us 3rd round pick or whatever then I could see Shanny pulling the trigger.

To clarify where I stand in this idea, I do not like the idea of Redskins drafting another RB this year. However, I am all for signing UFA rookies. Just because I do not like the idea, it does not mean I cannot see what scenarios from drafting or signing UFA RBs could present for Redskins FO. |

Helu should enter the season as the starter. Period. Anything else doesn't make sense.

Agreed. He has the talent and skillset to be a Shanahan stud and he has earned it.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Verse II)
I think he has the talent, but lacks the durability to be a starter. I think if you put him out there as a 22+ carry a game back for the duration of the season, he isn't going to last.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Verse II)
I am very happy that they have decided to resign hightower. Each of our running back had something to bring last year
Helu- great all around back with straight line speed Royster- great 3rd down change of pace and can cut back Hightower- Power back that can cut hopefully he heals fully I hope the draft Chris Rainey or LaMichael James either player brings that Reggie Bush/ Darren Sproles style of play.- Homerun threat.
