Our special teams will be the difference in the game. I REALLY do feel Brown breaking one.

I also want to know if Brown will be playing with 2nd or 3rd string because I think he'll go ass-crazy if he has someone like Ramsey or Campbell throwing to him.
Nahh, we didn't get 7 points, but we did get 28. Is that good or bad?

35 -14 skins ramsey throws 3 of the touchdowns. brunell and campbell each throw one. clinton gets over a 60 yards in two drives.

The longer that Marky stays in, I fear that our offense won't do so well... Not only that, Mark is as seasoned a vet as you can get, let the rookie get some playing time.

Couldn't care less about the score. I'd like to see some good ole clicking on offense. Maybe 8-10 carries for Portis with decent yardage and maybe 3 series with ramsey looking comfortable. I'd love to see some shots down the field. Even if they fail at least take them. On defense just don't get hurt. They'll be fine come the 11th.

The game won't be complete without 50/50 dropping an easy one too. I'll be able to laugh when(not if) he does.

Re: Redskins v Panthers pre-game thread

I'm hoping we see alot of Ramsey and the first team guys. And I hope we start to see some glimpes of what this year could bring. A more vertical passing game, improved protection, poise and confidence in the pocket by Ramsey, and some signs that our "small" WRs can cut it.

I'll also be interested to see Brunell.

I'm not concerned with the defense at all, just hoping for no injuries.

It's the offense that needs to show us something.

Sorry I left out one thing. I thnk this will be Ade Jimoh break out game with one sack, 3 pass defended, an int. for a touch down, and a fumble recovery. He may even layout 50/50 seperating him from the ball.

Re: Redskins v Panthers pre-game thread

all i look for is some decent production on offense, our defense getting up to speed, and no injuries. personally, i don't have any expectations for brunell, i wish we could just keep him on the sidelines the whole time. i would like to see how campbell does though.

I see a weak offensive performance this week from the starters. D should be fine, but will have issues with the corners out. Look for the D not to show very much in the early stages of preseason.

PReseason is an excuse for nerds like us to scout out what we have in the 3rd string. Vanilla play books coupled with lack of starters (or caring for that matter.) It's a great chance to see some rookie action (really interested in McCune) and watch Ade dominate!

Good luck, guys. But our 1st defense is awesome, even if a couple starters don't play (Minter, Lucas). Both teams have good "D". I look for a low scoring game. Of course that's what they said when we were in the SB against the Pats.

I'm glad were playing some tough defenses to be honest. 3/4 of our preseason opponents have GREAT defenses (Car, Pit, Bal), and Cinci dosent have a half bad unit either. I think this will help test our first team offense, so that they can bring their game up to the next level. During the regular season, we dont face that many REALLY dominant defenses. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that all three of those teams we play in preseason, are better than ever single defense we play. Philadelphia is the only real exception I'm looking at.

Re: Redskins v Panthers pre-game thread

Ramsey and most of the first team offense will play the entire first half... won't look great but will score a touchdown on the last drive of the half before letting the backups in. Together with the interception that Ade Jimoh runs back for a touchdown, the Redskins will be up 14-10 at the half and will win the game 24 -17 on a Campbell scramble.

If we score over 21 points, win or loss, I'll be happy. Our offense needs to produce. I would love to see Campbell come in give us a good long drive. Also, I would like to see us take some shots downfield.

I just want to see improvements on the offensive side of the ball.

Re: Redskins v Panthers pre-game thread

I'm pretty much hoping the special teams will have the strongest game of the three units. Special teams can really set the tone for a game. The defense is a given and I think the offense will need a game or two. Still no concerns there.

Basically, if we can get out without any major injuries and strong special teams play I think the staff will be happy.

Pred. Skins 11-5 this year! Portis 1600 yds -

People to watch on defense: Marshall, Clemons, K. Campbell, and Ron Warner
offense: Nemo, Manny White, Jansen
