I would hope Shanahan is focused on winning with the players he has right now, not who he'd want to bring in during the offseason. We are fighting for a playoff berth, after all.

Your reputation doesn't lend itself to that being a sarcastic comment

NC Skins-technically we got Niles Paul as well in the deal and JL is in the plans for next year

Brown should not be blamed. He's tried to get onto the field.

As for his acquisition, it was kind of a high risk/high reward thing from the beginning. Unfortunately we got the risk part of that deal. If he had gotten healthy, as was surmised at his acquisition, we would have a kick-ass offensive line right now.

We won more with Vinny

from redskins.com

"No surprise that the Redskins have a 3-0 record with long snapper Nick Sundberg on the roster, as we catch up with the resident tough guy before the Giants game."

If this unit finishes the season healthy, knock on wood, it's going to be hard for anybody to come into camp next season and crack the starting lineup; Tyler Polumbus included.

Coaches are very relunctant to tinker with success, even if there's a weak link. Polumbus hasn't been great, but he has held his own this season.

Well if BW stays hurt for three years than this would be a fair statement. Personally i think its ridiculous for anybody to call Brown a no good bum- im sure his hip didnt mean anything personal against the Skins. Now haynesworthless was a no good bum. Like SS said im sure Brown would relish the chance to earn his money. Its a shame really.

Agreed. Not that RT is solid by any means - but D is without a doubt a bigger problem than our offense. Personally though I think we will be able to adress both needs. - one in FA and one with our second round pick. Than with the other picks - depth depth depth - along the oline and secondary.

Re: Redskins Offensive Line: 2012 Unsung Heroes

Let me ask a question that may let some of you see it from a different perspective- who is the player that is most important to the redskins right now and will be for the duration of his career? So why would you not put the greatest priority in protecting him? Forget secondary and defense, if there's no RGIII then there's no hope. And many fans are content to let someone in front of him just do a decent enough job to protect him. And just think about RGIII - do you really want him just getting by with decent protection with guys like Pierre-Paul trying to hurt him? I like polumbus, but if there's a chance to upgrade- that would be my first priority - because protecting RGIII should be the biggest priority.

I understand what you're saying. This is why I don't understand Mike Shanahan's logic of drafting offensive linemen like Compton in the 6th round and "given them time to develop" when he should have drafted a T in the earlier rounds who could play right away. Compton played in the ALL VALLEY Missouri Football Conference for goodness sakes!!! Unless you truly follow college football, you've never heard of that conference. Compton is not a player who will start probably for the next 2 or three years even if he's still on the team by then.
