Re: Josh Wilson #26

Wilson got picked on yesterday big time, but still managed to come up with some plays.

Im not writing off Wilson and think he can still play, but he needs less pressure on him. He cant take the #1 guy, if he does he needs solid safety help. But so does D Hall.

I think you bring back Wilson for sure and bring a stronger Corner on the other side of him next year and lets see how he does. I bet he plays better.

I know one thing, its probably time for D Hall to go, along with that contract. Hall got away with one yesterday with the slap to the face. Plays like that usually cost us. Hall is too much of a liability in coverage and stupid 15 yard penalties.

I think next year, you bring in a Corner in free agency and you draft a corner with one of our first 2 picks.

Wilson had a mixed game, he caused a key fumble, got burned on a gamble play . The last TD by Bryant was just a great throw and catch that not even Champ Bailey breaks up.

Re: Josh Wilson #26

Is anyone going to realize that covering Dez Bryant is a very difficult thing to do? The guy is a flat out beast. The shorter TD that he gave up he was in perfect position. It was simply a great throw and catch. Sometimes you simply have to tip your cap to the other team. The 85 yarder was not his fault either. Yeah he gave up the catch but it looked like Williams took a horrible angle. I've said this before, Wilson is always around the ball, he just needs to improve his ball skills. Also our corners are already in a bind cause there is no pass rush.

He'll restructure, he said he wants to retire a redskin when we got him

for zero dollars? that only works if the team wants him, which isn't what i've been hearing. it's weird how people can rag on him for 3 years yet all of a sudden we've won 2 games and now we NEED him.

I think both guys aren't showing well, but either one would be fine as a #2. we don't need both of them at their asking price though, not when we need to sign a real corner to actually do they job that they haven't been able to do.

If Hall keeps playing like he has the past 2-3 games.. Then I say we try to keep him. He's been balling lately.

Our defense could just need time to develop under the system. A lot of new faces around it. I remember Green Bay's defense was trash, but it's slowly gotten better with time.

Not saying that could happen here.

I would like to see this happen, but will Hall accept less money from the Redskins than another franchise is willing to pay him?

Our secondary is not great, but there was no pressure and Romo got into rythm in the second half. We had to mess with his timing, and we didnt. It's not rocket science, they were bringing extra guys and still not getting to Romo. The dline gets way too much of a pass.

way to much hate for Wilson ... he plays solid .. kind of reminds me of another hate CB .. Carlos Rogers ... how'd he turn out ? ... As previously stated, Hall and Wilson ARE NOT THE PROBLEM .. pressure on QB is .. we are playing much better with Williams, Griffin, Wilson, Hall, and Gomes all gelling

If we don't have 2 Champ Bailey's on each side of the field.. We are not good enough in Redskins Nation man. Welcome

Yeah. Seems like Haslett is running better blitzes to take advantage of other teams having to worry about our DL, but Cofield, Bowen, and Jenkins are our best passrushers currently. They're the ones drawing double-teams and still getting pressure. That they are the only ones doing so is not good.

Nice post. It's true when the front 7 gets some pressure going we see the coverage is sufficient, and both Hall and Wilson create turnovers. They're smaller DBs and I think that's really the extent of their limitations.

Still, I expect Hall will be gone next year. Someone will give him a significant contract IMHO and it probably won't be us. Looking at the current secondary starters and knowing Hall is likely gone, we'll need two new starters for 2013, one DB and one safety. I wouldn't count on both Merriwether and Jackson (law of averages?), so we probably need to get a starting caliber DB and safety in the off-season.

Re: Josh Wilson #26

Chase Minnifield has potential, but the Redskins front office has to look past him. Richard Crawford hasn't played hardly at all since being scorched against Cinncinatti. If both of these guys were playing corner instead of D. Hall and J. Wilson, the pass plays against the defense would be for much bigger gains. Neither of these two young corners are ready for prime time. Crawford did have a great preseason playing against reserves but he's not hardly ready to be playing 1 on 1 coverage against the likes of Jacoby Jones, Dez Bryant, Brandon Marshall, or Jordy Nelson.

That said, the Redskins have some serious upgrades to make at CB in the off season.

Re: Josh Wilson #26

if tanard and meriweather can stay on the field next year, we'd be set there, but, i mean, who knows. byrd would be a huge upgrade regardless, but if we get cash strapped, a true #1 cb is probably more important.

we'll need a FA TE (there are 3 that are good enough, one should be cheap enough), and i'd like vollmer at RT. no one we draft is going to be starting there next year, and it'd probably help our offense more than throwing that money at another WR.

as for the draft... db, db, db, db. just keep trying till something works. any FA that's proven he's good is going to be really expensive, so, long term, it'd be better to find our own guys.
