1) Glad to disprove all the nay-sayers that said Cousins was a wasted 4th round pick. He just gave us a chance for the playoffs. Rexy would have thrown it right at the defender for the INT.

2) RG3 should have slid instead of going for the extra 2-3 yards & taking the Ngata hit.. He's got to learn.
I was one of those naysayers, and will gladly eat hot crow pie! Cousins was known for clutch finishes in college, and he was incredibly cool staring down 2nd and 20, and making two great throws to complete the drive. Gotta give Shanny credit for the Cousins pick now.

We have gotten lucky with him taking these hits. He's such a great leader and player! We r so lucky to have him and no way should we trade KC, never let talent go that easily.

I know this is against the common wisdom - but I think right now- !@#$ sliding - is what this team needs. He can slide when he has trained the rest of the team how to win. Yes he needs to be smart about it, but damn it we have been waiting 20 years for a player to start the winning tradition back again - This kid reminds me of Joey T playing with his teeth knocked out, of Mike Nelms kick returns, of Gary Clark crossing the middle - the fight those guys had I mean. I for one, am going to trust Robert will continue to get safer as he gets better, but I love the fact that the leader of our team is a fighter.

I know all the arguments about playing it safe; but there are times in life where you have take risks, and yes it scares me a bit. and two years from now will be different. But right here, Right now, this is what is needed.

Sorry for the long post HTTR =D
Great post. I agree with this completely. I know he needs to stay healthy and long term both during football and after his career is done is more important than any game. Damn though sometimes you have to gut it out and show the rest of the team what's expected. The thing that speaks volumes to me is how his lineman were ready to help him off the field. This game was such a statement that is going to have long term implications for us.

Re: RGIII= leadership

I was hoping that after he threw that 20 yard strike that he's OL would atleast Byron Leftwich him (carry him on their shoulders)

EDIT:

BTW if I'm Mike Shanahan I'm making RG3 wear a knee brace next week, next month, next year, and the rest of his NFL career. It helps a lot from future injuries, and next time Griffin plays (won't surprise me if he plays next week..[Shanahan is going to milk it out as much as possible if he plays or doesn't play])
Griffin is going to rush it coming back when he has a strain or possible tears in some of his 'less' important knee ligaments. I'm worried he'll pull what Dennis Dixon did at Oregon a few years ago.

For those that don't remember, Dixon was a Heisman hopeful and suffered a sprained ACL and/or MCL. He took about a week off (I'm guessing here) and came back to play. When he did, he planted his leg, and his knee buckled as his leg went in one direction and his lower leg went in another direction. He ultimately ended up tearing his already hurt knee by rushing it.

Bottom line; Rest RG3, Rest it up. We need you for the future, more than we need you right now.

Re: RGIII= leadership

Much like the concussion situation earlier in the year, if he's cleared to play, he'll be in there.

Re: RGIII= leadership

At the last game of the year against Dallas, I will be there. I will lead the MVP chants. Three more wins and we are in, three more wins and we are in, three more wins and we are in. Just keep winning.

Re: RGIII= leadership

I think him supporting Cousins was more important then going in/out of the game.

Stephen A says ridiculous things which don't have much basis to it; more on the speculation side. Sometimes he says stuff to stir up the pot.

Stephen A is a idiot if he thinks that. A huge idiot. If anything, it's Shanny that has to convince Danny to sign off on a trade of that magnitude, not the other way around. Stephen A is a shanny hater to say the least.
