Re: Russel Wilson or Bob

Nobody was picking RW in the 1st round. If Shanallen did that, they would have been crucified, and Wilson would not get the chance by the fans. Heck, he might not beat out Cousins, with the way Redskins qb history goes. (assuming we still pick Cousins, but maybe we don't because unlike Griffin who was the unquestioned starter so Shanahan could get a second qb he liked, he may have felt it would be too much pressure.)

What if's are ok for ROI futures, but as hindsight tool, they almost always are worthless. You can't pick one moment out of the past and assume changing it leaves all the other variables equal.

Re: Russel Wilson or Bob

so now we're doing what? doing a redraft with 100% perfect foresight? do the other teams get that too? cause it might change an awful lot of things. i know i'd be betting 2million on the superbowl myself and i wouldn't be nearly as concerned with who the skins got at QB .

unless you got a time machine it's a bit late to pretend you can change the past. and if griffin goes out and throws 4 TDs today the people that started this thread will go disappear into the woodwork again, or say that the trade was a great idea.

it must be hard never being wrong about anything and always being able to change your opinion on a whim while pretending it was your position all along.

season is early, the cap hit and the injury hurt, the D went from okay to OMGWTF bad. let's see if it can get turned around. the entire NFC East is in a nosedive right now.

Re: Russel Wilson or Bob

CRed and That Guy are right. Hindsight is pointless because we do not know what might have changed.

Everyone knew that we were QB hungry. If we didn't make the trade with the Rams, maybe we would have taken Tannehill. Maybe not.

If we hadn't taken Tannehill, people might have traded up to get to Cousins or Wilson before we did. In this scenario, we kept our picks, but left the draft without RGIII, Tannehill, Cousins, or Wilson.

No one can know for sure what would have happened without the Rams trade.

Re: Russel Wilson or Bob

the choice of this thread is -rw-or rg3. we would have picked Wilson in the second round not the first.

its either RG3

Or RW and additionally 3 first round picks.

funny thing is if RG 3 stays elite and healthy the trade could work out for us. but lets not act like we didn't pay an extremely high price for him.

You must be Mike Shanahan, because he is the only person on earth who could know that for sure.

And the jets should have drafted Marino, and warren sapp went way to late, and soooo many teams passed on tom brady. Come on? In retrospect obviously taking russel wilson and keeping the picks might seem wise about now. Lets see how careers unfold. Nobody thought Russel was going to be so good. Even the Seahawks or they would not have grabbed matt flynn for no reason.

Re: Russel Wilson or Bob

if we redrafted now, wilson would have been a top 10 pick at worst. the skins weren't looking at him, so this is a wasted mental exercise because you're presenting a situation that never really existed.

it's 2-3 other players and tannehill or maybe cousins and 4 other players.
