Oden was 7 feet tall. A lot of those guys like Yao Ming are just so tall that it breaks down their knee and lower back. It is different when you are not 7 feet tall and have to support that height and weight.

Why I pointed out, "different type of injury".

I thought you were speaking on the injury itself rather than the body type. My mistake.

But maybe not completely different.

Obviously, yesterday he was playing on a injured knee from the Steelers game, which was injured because of a hit that would have injured anyone's knee. But at Baylor he tore his ACL when he planted his right foot while running, not because of a hit. And not to draw any comparisons to yesterday, but after tearing his ACL at Baylor he came back into the game and continued to play, before being kept out by his coach after halftime.

Im not a doctor, but like most people on this forum, i too like to speculate. And in my purely speculative opinion knee injuries that happen for no apparent reason concern me the most. Jarvis Jenkins last year, Meriwether this year. Those concern me, because they seem like they could be the chronic Olden/Malcom Kelly type. But sometimes those tears that just happen for no particular reason are just that, and the player never has a problem again. Hopefully one of those random and without reason ACL tears is what happened to Griffin back at Baylor.

Griffin’s first, and seemingly more concerning, injury happened in 2010 and until recently he hasnt had any issues at all. And his current injury only happened because of a hit that would of compromised anyone's knee. Like everyone im hoping it turns out its just furthered sprained and hell be fine. Im very optimistic if it turns to be his MCL. And im only really worried about the health of his right knee if it turns out to be his ACL, but not nearly as worried as i would have been if it hadnt been injury related.

More importantly im worried about his long term health, because as special of a player he is when he's scrambling, hes not going to last at all doing that with any regularity, he just doesn’t have the body for it. He doesnt have a body like Elway or even Steve Young. Luck and Wilson can get away with being regular scramblers but Griffen cant and will never be able to. But that’s fine because he can be a HOFer if he stands in the pocket all day like Brady or Manning.

RG3 isn't the first player to have a knee injury. He will recover.

And after the game also
It kills me to say something bad about Rg3,but for him to say after the game he didnt think he hurt the team by being in there really really rubs me the wrong way
Call it ego, arrogance, stupidity, whatever you want to call it,But he def hurt our chances to win
It was obvious to me he wasn't the same player when he hurt himself on the rollout right before he threw the td to Paulson, then as he played more it was painfully obvious he was holding team back
Shanahan might have been 2nd guessed if he pulled him and stuck Kirk in and we still lost, but not by me
I think we win if Kirk comes in after halftime

Who's being an MD? Were just stating our opinion. No one's rendered a medical diagnosis from what I've read in any of the threads.

I have to admit, I was disappointed with RGIII's comments after the game also. He is a warrior and a true competitor, but he put his ego ahead of the team. " I don't feel like me being out there hurt the team in any way" and "I'm the best option" were clearly wrong statements. For the future, yes, but not in this game. Cousins could have come in with a 14 point lead and they would have had a chance. With RGIII on the field, he also eliminated the WR's and Alfred Morris offensively, as the 74 yards of total offense in the last 3 quarters told.

MD checking in.

Although it was apparent RGIII was not "right" even from the start of the game, he gave us our best chance to win. He's still one of the best passers in the game without his legs.

I regret nothing about watching our franchise QB who just turned us around from worst to first in a single season trying to win a playoff game for us. He's a true leader and this knee will heal up and we'll be even better next season when we get half of our defense back from injury and hopefully sure up that safety spot, plus some weapons on offense like Davis and hopefully Helu. After a division title and 10-win season, things are still looking up in our future. We had a ton of what should have been devastating injuries to our success and still won 7 straight to win the division and make the playoffs.

I'm more than satisfied with this season. It has been amazing. I have not been this excited about the Redskins since our 1991 season. Next year, we have the potential to be that '91 team, dominating everyone.

I'm fine with the season ending now. Griffin would try everything he could come up with to get on the field if we were playing next week...and I'm glad he won't have to put that knee under any more stress. Time to rest it and let it heal. Robert, we're not disappointed in yesterday's loss, we all thank you for the amazing rookie season you just had. Lets take care of yourself now and do it all again in September. We want you around for as long as possible.

Thanks for the memories, from this season and for years to come.

I'd kinda slow down there with that opinion. That was one of the best teams in the history of the NFL. The future looks bright, but we still have a lot of holes, that team had no holes.

I think the denial had been going on since well before 5:30 yesterday. But given their convictions that RG3 was able to play, I would have kept him in there as well

I think there's been some denial going on by some fans here on the Path as well.

Not sure how a hand full of coaches could have watch the last 3 qtrs and the total lack of production from the O and not figured out that they need to pull RGIII. We had some where around 170 yrds in O yesterday and around 120 came in the 1st qtr or before his injury.

I really think that had RG3 been 100% going into the playoffs the Skins would have gone to the Super Bowl with a good chance of winning it.
