Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013 Part II

With what we've done so far and if we are able to keep Davis, I'd have to call this offseason a success considering the $18 mil penalty. Our main competition in the division IMO (Giants) lost 3 key players, Osi, Bradshaw, Bennett from last year. The Eagles are rebuilding and the Cowboys have done nothing but change defenses and get older. I feel good going into the draft & 2013 preseason.

I like the signing, given our cap situation, its about all we could have expected to get. He is still only 25 years old, is back with his old coach, and has starting experience. I like it, so he's not Deion Sanders, well we tried that too, it didn't work. Its not like this is the only addition we'll make to the secodary. We still have 7 choices in the draft to make improvements, plus I think Crawford can step up this year.

Great move as long as he's not the only CB we sign. We needed to sign SOMEONE. Hopefully another CB like Antoine Winfield, Sam Shields, Nate Clements, Terrence McGee, Captin Munnerlyn or Tracey Porter can happen.

We obviously can't afford any of the better FA CBs like Asomugha, Grimes, Gamble or Jammer.

We'll bring back hall, it's basically a given at this point. He wants to stay in Washington

It would be pretty stupid to have both Hall and Biggers. Biggers is like DeAngelo Hall, but without the upside (ie paymaking ability).

What if Hall is being brought back as a FS first and a situational corner?

Boom! But we'll still need a starting corner in this scenario, be it via FA or draft.

Why would it be stupid to have both? The one with upside starts and the other, who you claim is similar but not quite as good, would simply be depth in case of an injury. Most backups in the league possess a similar skill set as their starter, but are without the "upside" or they themselves would start, right? If we can afford both (a funny thing to say given our cap situation) why not have them both?

I like the signing. Taking guys that have some talent that may not yet be realized. Most likely a team friendly deal and has the chance to grow into a good player. Minimal impact if he doesn't pan out, big payout if he does!

I agree with this. If he grows into a great player, excellent. If not, we probably don't have much invested.

Then y would we sign biggers then?? That would make no sense lol. Hall is better than u guys give credit for. Every corner in the league gets burned, only a few are really really good.

I agree hall is better. Biggers is a cheap nickle/backup. Under no circumstances would the team bring hall back and have Biggers and hall on the field at the same time. Both are gamblers who cant cover. It would be a recipe for disaster.

That's all he is. Rah may be able to work him into the system.

I don't think Biggers was brought here to replace D.Hall as the starting corner. Hopefully D.Hall will be back anyway.
