Re: The Spitting Ejection
Like many who posted ... I DO NOT Think TAYLOR hocked a loogie ... the slap by PITTMAN should have resulted in a game foul .... the fact the SLAP went unpunished was amazing

IF ANYTHING, I actually give a little credit to Sean Taylor for NOT retaliating at all after the bitch slap. He very easily could have gone after him... |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
Just saw S.Springs on Cold Pizza and he said he will play in Seattle and said he believe that Taylor didn't do what Pittman said he did! That is good enough for me! I also read on another site that Pittman called Taylor a few words that I can't say here! All I know I would not wanted to be Seattle when he lins up this weekend!!! HIT HIT HIT!!!!

Re: The Spitting Ejection
Its not because Pittman said ST spit on him that ST was tossed, it was because the ref saw ST spit that ST was tossed and Pittman's retaliation was not punished. The skins are lucky he's not out for this weeks game.

Re: The Spitting Ejection
Further to the spitting debate: I've consulted some 'hoodie' friends and they all use the tongue compression/gap teeth' method. No head jerk and only a small delivery of spittle.
I'm here to help. |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
If the spitting on someone is the most classless thing some of you guys can think of then you are completely out of touch. I can think of tons of worse things that could happen on a field. Get some perspective on this guys. You're saying spitting is worse than trying to injure someone. Spitting is worse than berating or attacking an official. Spitting is worse than cheating. Spitting is worse than exposing one's self. Com'on guys and get real. No one can even proved it happened. I have plenty of reason to distrust Mike Carey and the NFL in these things and little to trust really. When a player takes a blatant swing at a guy right in front of your face and you do not call it then you lose all credibility. NO MATTER WHY HE TOOK A SWING. It has to be called.
It is completely lost that the guy supposedly spit on by Taylor is a convicted wife-beater? Not just a wife-beater but a guy who hit and run his wife's car with the wife and kid in it? I am not saying we shouldn't care if Taylor does something like this just because the other guy is a scum bag but don't act like Pittman an innocent guy who Taylor somehow maliciously attacked. He's a jerk and I personally don't care what anyone does to him. I do care if our players are getting kicked out of games and this should not have been ejectable even if he did do it. Spitting. We're arguing over spitting. Please. |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
my 2c one more time... the difference between a few hundred players in this league and ST is that ST got caught (or allegedly got caught) doing a bozo no-no. Ref says he saw it, flags ST, ejects ST, and league fines ST. Next time when some hyped up part-time lineman or RB or WR gets in Taylor's face he'll keep his cool and the next pile up he'll sack whack the dude (with a closed fist) when refs are looking the other way. Thus we have the evolution of the badass football player.

Re: The Spitting Ejection
This argument is absolutely rediculous. Someone spits in your face, what do you do. That is one of the most disrespectful things someone can do to you. I didn't say the most ingnorant, I said disrespectful. For someone to try and make it sound ok to spit in someones face is awful. The guy spit, fact. the league fined him for it, and Upshaw didn't argue. That to me says the guy is guilty. Lucky for us, he is still playing against Seattle. They probably should have penalized pittman for the slap, but what difference does it make. He wouldn't have gotten ejected, offsetting penalties. Big deal, Taylor should have used better judgement. He spit on someone for christ sakes, how is that even defendable. there are alot of things that go on during the game that are ignorant, especially at the bottom of piles, but spitting is down right lack of class and respect for fellow opponents.

Re: The Spitting Ejection
Point blank... Taylor's earlier TD was the margin of victory in the game. He could have stopped at midfield, taken a crap, picked it up and threw it at Pittman. As long as the fifteen yarder and subsequent ejection did not cost us the game, I wouldn't be as mad at him as some of you are because he spit on a roided out wifebeater.
I'm glad he has no respect for opponents. I don't want to have the nicest safety in the NFL. I want the one that opposing teams are afraid to throw near. |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
You guys are killing me. So if Roy Williams came over and spat on Santana Moss, you would look the other way and say well, he is a safety that is ok. You people are absolutely insane to try and convince me its ok to spit on anyone. That is retarded. beating wives, breaking fingers, cheap shots its all wrong. But to spit in someones face is the most irrenhansible thing an athlete can do. Just like betting on baseball is the most frowned upon thing is baseball. Guys get elected to the Hall even though they got arrested 4 times for drugs, or beat their wives, or steal cars, what ever, but Pete Rose, never gets enducted because of betting on baseball. Its one of those cardinal rules. I am in no way comparing the baseball thing to what happened w/ Taylor, but there are just somethings that are just tasteless, and classless and spitting is one of them. Thats is I am done talking about it. You people drink way too much cool-aid when you try and defend someone spitting in the face of another person. Lets see somebody do it to you, your child or I guess something that would hurt the worst, somebody spit on Portis, or Moss and lets see how you react.
