Re: Should we be drafting Tua???
Its not faulting by injury, its the frequency and type. Regardless of potential and displayed ability some injuries can and do shorten careers. Regardless of said ability teams and coaches have to take jjnto account the potential availability of a drafted based on historic injuries. Guice dropped down for good reason as proven last 2 years, and maybe the worst is over, but you would never have taken him with a top 25 pick based on his history. So why is Tua special? Because he's a QB? Sorry, its too high a risk for most organisations that have a competent QB already on the roster. Haskins isn't proven either way but he's competent and fit right now. With other needs why risk the whole applecart on Tua?
We do need a backup, hopefully a competent vet, but right now we need a defence that can take the pressure off the O as it develops. CY or trading down and getting Simmons and maybe Okudah makes far more sense than risking it all on Tua. |

Re: Should we be drafting Tua???
Every QB is different. Please explain we moved on from RG3 mainly because he couldn't stay healthy. Now you want to sign Tua. I've followed Tua think he's a great QB but the pros hit harder.

I'm saying if Tua is the clear cut better QB than Dwayne, you consider it. If you don't have a QB, Chase Young doesn't mean jack... Ask Khalil Mack, Von Miller etc.

Haskins has been in the building since Rivera got here, obviously doing everything he can prove he wants it. There is literally no reason to believe Rivera doesn't like Haskins (if you've studied the NFL long enough to know coaches like to keep their intentions vague in the media for a reason).

If you did draft Tua, and it's a true competition, and Haskins wins - you gave up the opportunity to draft Chase Young, or potential trade value of the #2 spot, which makes the decision even daftier, assume we could get two firsts and a 3rd for the 2nd spot, that is immense draft capital lost, for a qb bust. (again assuming Haskins wins the competition) If you draft Tua, have the competition, and he wins, you still gave up the potential game changer in Chase Young, but also effectively gave up 3 potential first round picks in Haskins plus 2 firsts in any potential trade. Finally, even if RR believes Haskins isn't a franchise qb, the lost value this year in simply giving up on him is huge in the development of the team as a whole unit. Clearly Haskins has made efforts to show he has heard what RR is preaching, and he has acted accordingly. If RR turns around and says thanks but no, without Haskins having had a chance to show very much on the field, what would that do to RR's message of you do what I say, and it doesn't work, I shoulder the blame. It destroys it. Bottomline there is always smoke at this tiem of year, but throwing away a talented qb for the shiny object qb is not going to make this a better team. |

Re: Should we be drafting Tua???
Von Miller has a SB trophy and that was in spite of Peyton Manning more so than because of him. I'll give you Khalil but Trubisky sucks and they even went 12-4.

Re: Should we be drafting Tua???
I think we should draft Tua, sign Brady and Rivers, and let them all fight it out with Haskins in a steel cage match
