I'll agree to disagree with you on this point.

My hope would be that the rookie being drafted outplays the veteran rebound anyways.

Re: 2022 veteran QB options

I hate to say but, if the big three are not available and it is likely the top two QBs won't be available at 11, I would roll with a FA QB, try like hell to trade down and get assets for 2023, and draft a mid-round QB.

To me, the worst case scenario is rolling with TH again.

Agree, I can't take another year of gentle spirals floating over WR's heads.

I think those are geese. Nice balls in the air that are mean to WR's when approaching the target (or assumed target).

I would not take a vet minimum salary for one game to catch a pass from him over the middle. I value my brain and ribs far too much.

Re: 2022 veteran QB options

I'd say if we trade for a starter or sign one of the better FA QB's then agree with not taking a QB in rd1. Maybe not until 3rd. Get someone to compete with TH and can go on the PS if TH wins the backup role. But I don't like the idea of missing out on a starting QB before the draft then relying on what would likely be our 2nd or 3rd choice QB taken at #11 and them being installed as the day 1 starter (because then TH would be starter and we've been there, done that).

Last year or next years draft I'd go hell for leather to trade up to guarantee the #1#or #2 QB because you know they won't be there at #11. But this year that would be folly.

Todd Mcshay "I'm not sure Mitch wouldn't be the QB1 in this class, in fact multiple teams are interested"

I don't think he's a savior or long term solution but he is the perfect guy to come in and compete. He has had some very good games. He is an upgrade over TH and Allen. That is all you can ask for in the vet QB market. An upgrade over what ya got w/out giving up compensation.

But it is painfully obvious he was overdrafted. There will be several guys in this draft that are going to be overdrafted. It happens every single year.

I've seen enough of him to know I don't want him as my starter. Way too inaccurate and erratic throwing from the pocket. Throws too many dumb INTs. There was a play against the Saints in the playoffs 2 years ago where he ran out of bounds to avoid contact on 4th down instead of reaching out for the marker. He's got no heart. 100% Tin man.

Not going to judge him on one play. I have seen him run the ball plenty of times and take on contact. I have also seen him have some huge days throwing the ball.

All the free agent QB's that are going to be on the open market have battled consistency issues. If they didn't they'd be on long term contacts. There's a reason they're free agents. You could say the same thing about Mariota, Dalton, Winston, Bridgewater...

I'm going to try and sign Mitch cause he has started playoff games. He has the most potential out of all the free agents.
