Re: 2023 Divisional Round Thread
I know. But just made me think about our own QB options.
I'd prefer the Howell, cheap (by QB standards) Veteran FA, draft pick option. But if the team decides to go after an expensive option (picks and/or money), give me Lamar.

Re: 2023 Divisional Round Thread
If people are willing to spend money on go no where veterans like Brissett or Dalton, what about Cooper Rush? Are we saying we don’t want to apply pressure to Howell?

Not really sure what go no where means. Both of the guys you mentioned are still in the league, therefore, very successful. Rush is 29 too, so not like he's some spring chicken. His limited sample size this year is likely the highlight of his career. Brissett and Dalton have way more tape.

Cooper Rush has been in the league for 5 years, but he doesn't have many more starts than Howell at this point. I'm not counting anyone out - as far as coming in and competing and pushing Howell, but I don't think Cooper would be near the top of my list. Surely not above guys like Brissett, Dalton, Bridgewater, Mayfield... If you bring in Carr, L Jackson, Garappolo, G SMith...then you aren't pushing Howell. He would then be your backup. I hope they don't do this, but I'm assuming all options are on the table. |

Hell, Heinicke's market value according to Spotrac is $19.8M annual average salary. Dalton and Brissett are in the $6-7M range. |

Re: 2023 Divisional Round Thread
Doubt Dalton would wanna come back. The last time he was here he almost went home without his head.

Re: 2023 Divisional Round Thread
I saw that too, and I can't believe someone will pay him $10M, let alone near 20. Maybe they will but it better not be us! I've always liked Brissett, if only as a bridge QB. Don't love the idea of him as the starting QB unless Howell bombs in camp, but he'd make a more than adequate backup.

^^^^^^
Haha, yep, add 1 more step for half the media jumping on their jockstraps, and that's 100% accurate.

Re: 2023 Divisional Round Thread
And yet the Dallas hype machine will be back in full force come August.
Nothing like the team twitter account throwing Dak under the bus, like WTF? @dallascowboys Dak Prescott gave away the ball twice in the narrow loss to the 49ers, in a matchup the Cowboys had a chance to win if they didn’t again generate self-inflicted wounds. |
