Plenty of people who voted for him know he's garbage, but they don't care as long as they own the libs even when it comes to voting against their own best interests. We have a big problem when it comes to critical thinking in this country.

Let's not forget that Trump not only beat Democratic nominees but also a large field of GOP candidates for the nomination in 2016 and then, even after 1/6/21, didn't even debate and still crushed Haley and DeSantis. Lets not pretend that the traditional GOP us without issue.

And that still doesnt erase the fact that many Republicans would not have voted for Trump if he had ran with the same America First platform, but as a Dem.

Well in 2016 the only reason Trump won the nomination is because it was such a large field any one of them would have beaten him but 17 refused to get out of each other's way paving the path for Trumps rise. Damn shame really.

I know that's been the conventional.wisdom, but I'm not even sure I buy it anymore. Maybe going head to head against Rubio or Christie would've exposed him, but I just don't know. The GOP base and a large number of indies look past the buffoonery.

He did in fact win the popular vote. He just didn't win over 50 percent of the votes cast.

Ronald Reagan in 1984 won every state except Minnesota and I believe 57 percent of the vote. Nixon in 1972 won almost every state and I think over 60 percent. And yet if such a result was obtained today, you'd have people saying "but you need 70 percent for a mandate......"

Trump won the popular vote, he just didn’t cross 50%, just a little under it. Clinton won the popular vote twice but he didn’t cross 50%.

More people voted against trump then for him, yes it's that simple and a great case to dump the Electoral College.

So, that’s happened several times. Trump still would have won in a popular vote Only election this time. There’s always a small percentage of third parties getting the vote.

Popular vote is the votes you actually get and if you win more than the other candidates, you won the popular vote. Just because you don’t hit the 50% threshold doesn’t mean you lost the popular vote.

No Dem was going to win this election because the top 2 issues were inflation and immigration and that went against the Democrats. Kamala couldn’t escape that because she was part of the current administration. Other Dems also couldn’t escape that because Dems are in charge and Dems are getting the blame.

I get that IMO she did ok for a 12 week campaign against someone who had been running for 4 years.
