PalmBeachPost.com Reports:

The Miami Dolphins, long considered an aging team without enough developing players, took another step in a continuing youth movement as the team settled on its 53-man roster.

On Saturday, the Dolphins terminated the contracts of 35-year-old fullback Cory Schlesinger and 30-year-old wide receiver Az Hakim - the biggest names among the 22 players the franchise released. The Dolphins' current roster includes 25 players who haven't made an NFL start, including 13 rookies - 10 of them making up the 2007 draft class. Of the 53 players, 28 were not on the team's final 2006 roster."

So, what's this mean?? Tells me that trying to predict how the Fins will do is a problem for everyone (us included). 28 new players, 25 non-starters and 13 rookies means trying to make plans very difficult for Joe and company. IMHO what we ought to do is ignore the Fin's "capabilities" and prepare to blast them from here to eternity with te o'line, Portis, Betts, Cooley, etc...If that doesn't work- we go to our "finesse" game with the wideouts. If that doesn't work, then Miami deserves to win...
Good post and welcome to the site.

Um... WHAT?!? Ronnie Brown isnt to that elite level yet... but he is on his way. Behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league, he has averaged 4.3 ypc. He has barely even been used in the 2 years he has been in the league... but produces every time he touches the ball. Not to mention, he is one of the best blocking RBs in the league, and has fantastic hands... better than a lot of WRs. He definatly has the best hands on our team...

He comes from all over. Technically, he is the ROLB/RDE that will come from your weak side (offense's left blind side). However, we move him all over the place. Bring him off the right edge with his hand on the ground, off the left edge while standing, blitz right up the middle, drop him into coverage... he does it all. He plays the "Jack" position... which is called that because it is basically the position of a jack of all trades.

What is that saying about your WR corp? If you cant be balanced its not gonna matter how many YPC RB averaged last year.

Not to mention the Dolphins didn't do anything to help that core this year. Didn't they lose Randy McMicheal and Wes Welker. I know Wes Welker isn't even that good, but the Phins need all they can get there.

Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions

There sure is a lot of overconfidence here on the upcoming Dolphins game. The Bears overlooked us last year and we embarrassed them ... with Harrington as our quarterback.

I should have known this wasn't a gentleman's blog when you are labeled camp scrub by someone who doesn't know you or football as a matter of fact.

Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions

That guy is going to get murdered. He shouldn't have been a first round pick. The would have been better off going with someone like Dwayne Jarret or Dwayne Bowe. Yet they pick a guy who has only speed in his arsenal. I know I might get a Santana Moss comparison, but this guy is too small and is what you would call a "route running god". Wasted pick, this guy could wait until the 4th round IMO.

Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions

Skins WIN 27-13

The Skins will have good field position almost all game due to excellent play from special teams. The Offense will come out strong and JC will end the first drive with a TD Pass.

Our D will shut the fins down pretty much completely for the first quarter, and by the 2nd quarter we'll be up 14-3, after CP runs one in on a 20+ yd TD run.

Then in the second and 3rd we'll sputter a bit, but due to the aforementioned good field position Suisham will get into range for a couple 40+ yd field goals. During this time the fins will pick it up on offense a bit scoring a TD and another field goal, and we'll go into the 4th up 20-13.

Late in the game the D will create a crucial TO, leading to a long game ending TD drive by Campbell, with the D holding on for the win with the Final score 27-13.
