Anyhow, I still think there's just one small (not so small?) issue keeping Williams from getting the job. If that's resolved it's his job. It not, Schwartz is one of the better (best?) alternatives.

Snyder could pick Jesus himself to coach and people would complain that he didn't hire God as his GM
Randel El openly endorsed Gregg Williams on News 4 a couple of days ago. Before that Phillip Daniels said players on both side of the ball "hope it's Gregg" Williams. I think everybody player I've seen interview has strongly hinted that management listen to them this time around.

FYI- Jesus is God. At least for those who have a Trinitarian viewpoint. You're analogy would be more theologically correct if it said "didn't hire The Father as his GM".

God, i love this time of year. Things are getting started a little earlier than usual. There is so much hearsay and conjecture and ppl posting like 5 times in 5 minutes if not more. U go from panicking one moment to being thrilled (and FA hasn't even started!) This is by far my favorite time of the year to be on the warpath!

Re: May the Schwartz be with you?

It just hit me that Snyder doesn't have any idea what he's going to do. What he does know is that he likes the focus and attention being on him as THE decision maker. For that reason, I would expect this process to drag on quite a while. Even though The Redskins got bounced from the playoffs he can still keep us fixated on the team by creating a little mystery saga around this process. He's still the very much the marketing guy.

I agree and people are starting to call people out like Snyder who have no idea what he is going to do.Things like "Snyder is reverting back to his old self" etc.. I think I'll stick to the parking lot until a coach is named.

Re: May the Schwartz be with you?

Schwartz sounds like a pretty sexy pick up. The more I read, the more I like. I'm still on the Russ Grimm bandwagon. Bring him in, make him HC, Bugel will leave, and GW and AS stay put.

Not a huge shakeup, but it's someone the D.C. people could rally behind.

Man... these percocets just kicked in... my teeth no longer hurt... and I'm going to bed. Night folks.

Seems JLC has come to his senses a little on this.

Re: May the Schwartz be with you?

JLC's blog was updated this afternoon. For the first time there JLC is reporting a time frame; next week all interviews could be done, if not the week after. He says that team sources think GW will be the last interview. It all made me feel better.

The Sklar Brothers are freaking hilarious. I like it when they sit in for Rome.

Just caught this in passing, pretty good thinking though:

Re: May the Schwartz be with you?

Peter King was on the John Riggins show talking about the skins coaching search and a good point was made. King said he did speak to Jim Schwartz and JS said he was really a little confused and asked DS..."Why are you interviewing me? My mentor and someone who has taught me everything I know about coaching is already on your staff."

This point was made before but so true. King goes on to say, he didn't think DS ever wanted to hire GW's, which based on facts, seems to be the case.

May be the case, but even so this could also be a positive sign. Maybe danny never wanted or felt comfortable w/GW as coach, but he at least made an effort to work through his feelings in 4 interviews, rather than acting on instinct & not interviewing him. IN addition, by interviewing Schwartz he gets insight from an outsider on GW. There was also the possibility that he wanted Schwartz to work for GW, even if unlikely due to contract.
