Unknown Commander (Standing with Obama - and after speaking into a small mic in his lapel): Yes sir. Bin Laden is dead sir.

Obama: Good when will the operation take place?

U.C.: It just did, sir. Bin Laden is now dead. What do you want us to with the body.

Obama: Wait, when did you kill him?

U.C.: Just now sir, after you gave the order.

Obama: Ummm, okay. Good job!

It is unfortunate for that the men who carried out this mission can't be given the parade they deserve. I am sure, given the type of people it takes to carry out this mission, that they probably feel the mission's success was its own reward and that they are getting plenty of accolades within their community (like I tell my son: do the right thing work hard, and the right people will know your worth). At the same time, it would be both cathartic and unifying for the nation to be able to shower them with cheers.
They would become marked men and it would endanger everyone they know.

I guess all kinds of info is being released now.

So I just heard that as soon as the SEALS were informed they were going in to kill Osama, there was a loud roar and lots of cheering. And apparently Leon Paneta watched the whole thing go down on a surveillance cam real time. Damn!

Is there anything on earth more badass than our SEALS? I heard Obama and Panetta watching the whole thing from the White House sit room.

I love that this was a kill op from the jump.

I read that it was a large gunshot wound to his forehead. I don't care how graphic it is. I want to see that son of a bitch.

This.

No way in hell I would ever want anybody in Black Ops put on TV or exposed, no matter how great their service is. Chances are it would put their family (and themselves) in grave danger.

They have to release it. I don't think we'll truly have closure until the public can see for themselves that he is in fact dead. Plus not releasing the photos helps give fuel to the truther movement which has died down considerably over the last few years. Please don't give them an excuse to start up again.

re: Bin Laden Killed

So what's next for Pakistan? Seems to me they've got some serious explaining to do.

I heard that no country was willing to take Bin Laden's body, and also we buried him at sea so no one could use his grave site as a pilgrimage location. Interesting.

Also Im pretty sure the type of person that devotes their life to service and is handpicked to join the most covert and elite special opps group within one of the most elite special opps groups in the entire world isnt really the type of guy looking for recognition and parades. I wouldn’t be too surprised if a lot of the guys involved don’t even really have the wife, kids, and a dog family life either.
