Well, the Eagles didn't beat a division opponent today. Which I think was his point

Ah, I thought he was talking about overall record. So we are at top of the NFC East. Yay.

What I liked today was how Vick wasn't invincible. Under 50% passing, 1 lost fumble, 5.8 ypa, and sub 200 yards through the air. A better defense can stop that or at least contain it. Granted he still had a great game when you factor in 98 rushing yards on 10 carries (I mean yards are yards) but he's not doing it with the same type of efficiency that he was in 2010.

Don't get me wrong, Vick is still dangerous but if today was any indication we're not dealing with the same guy that destroyed everyone via both passing and running. In short he's still a better QB then he was in Atlanta, but if we're lucky he won't be the same guy we saw last year.

I'll be curious to see how we're going to attack Vick. We've GOT to take advantage of those three rookies on their o-line.

He threw into double coverage more times than I'm sure Andy Reid would have like to see. I really think the key to beating Vick is to make him pay with turnovers. As long as you stay patient with him, he's ripe for the picking imo.

Re: Around the NFL week 1

I think that kickoff coverage is now more akin to a run blitz. Either you get them in the backfield or you leave yourself exposed for a big gain. Also I think we've seen during the past two years that the wedge was clearly holding teams back and a poor excuse for strategy. However no one thought to change it until the rules forced them to. It's kind of like discovering that three wide singleback is more effective then the wishbone by accident.

Re: Around the NFL week 1

Good Sunday recap from Matt Bowen:

NFP Week 1 Sunday replay | National Football Post

Interesting note that Cutler(22-32-312-2 TDs) and Grossman(21-34-305-2 TDs) had similar stat lines. I don't know how many WR drops Cutler had, certainly Grossman hit WR's in the hands a couple of times.

I love how Romo had that stupid smile on his face thru 3 qtrs like he had everything under control even on missed passes. And then by the end of the 4th he had that Homo look in his eyes again.

Hilarious. Guy just blew the game, and he's smiling with 3 second left after he wasted 5 of the prior seconds with a botched snapped.

He think the second he stops smiling coaches will catch on to how much he sucks... Gotta keep that "meant to do that" look going.

That was one of the best NFL season opening Sundays!

Re: Around the NFL week 1

As much as I dislike Rex Ryan, I was glad to see the NY team get the win at home on 9/11. And of course watching Romo sh*t the bed on national tv was awesome.

Side note- did anyone see Dez Bryant's post game interview in the locker room? Someone needs to show him how to tie a tie. LOL.

Just saw the end of the 49er game, holy crap Ted Ginn! Back to back return tds by him.On the kickoff return when he took off his speed was impressive,2 or 3 people had very easy angles on him and he just blew by them with his speed,I didnt know he had that much speed,he looked faster then B.Banks and Armstrong
