Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
If that happens the Rams will be able to draft a super bowl roster in the next two drafts.

The next big question is would Luck fall to number 6? Personally I feel Luck would have a better chance of making it to #6 vs. RGIII and it's not because I think RGIII is a better QB, it's because Luck is an unknown and offers not much of a different option for those other teams... Rams- Bradford, Vikes- Ponder, Browns- McCoy, all pocket passers. Luck might be more accurate or might be able to throw farther but otherwise the QB they have already knows the system and they would be better off keeping their QB who knows their system and build around him. RGIII is different because he has his legs to extend a play which is not what those teams have right now. |

RGIII play style is more like a faster Steve Young IMO

Our coaching staff I think would prefer a pocket passer who will go through all his progressions and can feel the pressure and step aside to elude it. Why I think Beck was sitting in the pocket more then Grossman and hardly ran for first downs himself. |

From what I keep reading RGIII offense was the spread and yes it was gimmicky. Also he was not asked to read the defense and change the play at the LOS. All he was asked to do was call the play and run it and from what I'm reading if his first option was not available he often ran for the yards himself. |

NFL Teams have been watching Luck since he came to Stanford.

I don't know why I never liked Steve Young. Montana yes, Young no. I guess it was I thought of him as an idiot (Elway type) and would trip over his own feet when scrambling. I'm not an RGIII but definitely don't like the comparison.

Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
We need to prepare ourselves for the possibility that we may not land our Franchise QB this season.
First, there will be a number of other teams who will be trying just as hard as we will be to land a Franchise QB. We may simply be outmaneuvered by a couple of other teams. Peyton Manning is going somewhere and, with the stage of rebuilding we're currently in, I don't think it will be here. He's almost certainly going to sign where nearly all of the pieces are already in place for him to have a good shot at ending his career with a glorious Super Bowl winning season. That seems to me to be what the great Peyton Manning would want to do. He won't be going anywhere just to get a paycheck. BTW, we may all be surprised by the team he picks. The Jets? The Ravens? The Texans? Secondly, I believe that RGIII will make a spectacular impression at the NFL Combine, on and off the field. Teams, even some unexpected teams, will be trying to top one another's offers to St. Louis to move up to #2 in the draft. As I stated here before, if Cleveland wants RGIII bad enough, they'll get him because having the #4 pick and the #22 pick sets up a situation that is just about perfect for St. Louis to have a remarkable draft if they trade the #2 pick to Cleveland. And, of course, Andrew Luck will be picked either #1 or #2. That's it folks! You now have the complete list of potential Franchise QB's projected to be available in 2012. So what should we do? 1. Load up as much as we can in FA in anticipation of having fewer draft picks this year if we are fortunate enough to trade for the #2 pick. 2. Sign a mid-level QB in FA who can be either the interim starter or the backup. 3. Do everything possible, even beyond reasonable, to acquire the #2 pick. 4a. If we get the #2 pick, wait to see who Indy takes between Luck and Griffin III and then put in our card one picosecond later for the other one. 4b. If we don't get the #2 pick, then proceed with the draft in normal fashion, targeting a good young QB in the early rounds. The plan seems rather simple to me but, as the old saying goes, the devil is in the details. Last edited by KI Skins Fan; 02-21-2012 at 10:35 AM. |

Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
I didn't mean unknown as in he might not have any skills. Honestly I was typing and my mind was going faster then my hands so I'm not even sure why I wrote that. I think what I was trying to say was his (unknown) is not going to be much different then what the teams I mentioned already have and then I went on to point out that their QB's are pocket passers also. So instead of taking him which will take some time for him to learn the system and for everyone on offense to get on page with each other they would be better served to keep their current QB's who already know their systems and might provide more wins now over taking Luck. In the long run Luck would probably be better then what they have but with the win now mentality "I" think they would be better served staying put. RGIII offered something Luck didn't and something their current QB's do not and thats mobility. |
