LaVar is many things, classy isn't something that readily comes to mind. I'm not saying he's totally to blame, but he's certainly not an innocent victim and he's always quick to point the finger at anyone other than himself.
Bingo! There are many ways to handle disputes with your team. Take the respective contract disputes of T.O. and Hines Ward for example. Ward handled contract negotiations with total class and successfully I might add. We all know the probs TO has caused. While LA isn't exactly TO, Lavar would be much happier if he were less of loose cannon. Apparently, the coaching staff is schooling him a bit.

Schooling him? But I thought he was being kept out of the lineup strictly for his "inability to grasp the defensive scheme". Claiming that he is being "schooled" because of his off the field issues sounds like a wacky conspiracy theory to me.

didnt he complain last year that they brought him back too soon, and that is why he was re-injured so quickly? Joe didnt like that. So I think it's a case of Gibb's and Greg showing some f'ing nutz and making sure he is completely healthy; and it's an ego check. the whole, the team is bigger idea.

Our defense has been good but not as spectacular as we were last week. For 2 weeks in a row we have been burnt on big plays!!
Top five I would put in the spectacular catagory. 15 up to 5 I would call good.

Big plays given up yes- would LaVar stop them? Who knows. Would he caused more big plays? Who knows.

The one thing I know for sure is the coaches know the most...they have an advantage called watching practice. Two of the best D coaches in the league (Marvin Lewis and Gregg Williams) call LaVar undisciplined.

I don't think he is selfish - I think he is spoiled. For so long he has made great plays with out working as hard as others - I think he has that much talent- and now the coaches are expecting him to meet the same standard as Ade Jimoe and Rock in terms of work and preparing. That meeting of the standard is how real teams are made - It is how the army puts together their best units (Ranger Regiment and Special Forces) The Pats do it every year. I can't emphasize enough how important standards are in making a good team year in and year out.

The one thing about this thing folks need to realize is not one of the players has come out and supported LaVar- They all line up behind the coaches. That says more to me than anything either side puts out in the media. That is why this isn't a full blown controversy outside of message boards. The media is split pretty much down the middle on who to support.

LaVar is learning I think- I hope. I want him to play as much as anyone...that will mean he is listening and disciplined. He will be ten times the player he was. I am still a huge LA fan. But I am a Skins fan first.

Well, what might hopefully put out this fire a bit and allow some of you Gregg Williams haters to come back to your senses is that a report from Comcast Sports this evening reports that Lavar Arrington has had a great week of practice and is expected to see significant playing time. This can hopefully be only good news for us; especially the Redskins' defense!

If you really believe this then you have no clue what Joe Gibbs is about. Period.

Re: (Merged Threads) LaVar Arrington and Gregg Williams

has anything new happened? cause i'm still seeing the same arguements and whining from two weeks ago...

is Lavar benched because he...
A) isn't good enough
b) can't play in the scheme
c) isn't smart enough to learn the scheme
d) got injured and lost his first dibs on the starting spot
e) is too expensive and is going to be moved
f) has a team trying to spite him to kill his pro bowl bonus
g) has a vindictive owner who hates him
h) has a vindictive coaching staff that hates how he spoke out
i) is refusing to play special teams or practice hard

anything else? c and i are stretches, and i think chances of g and h are very slim, and f might be as well. some people have gotten so emotionally attached to one player it seems that they feel obligated to defend him in every way no matter what the charges. He's not playing, we can't affect that kind of change, and i'm not sure i'd want to if the staff is SOO intent on his bench-warming status...

that said, i do think he's better than his replacements (he's playing behind clemons as a 3rd down pass rusher too) and could help the team. I probably shouldn't bother with these threads anymore, but there's so much pointless "the sky is falling" from some people that's just kind of annoying.

Greg Williams said Lavar has had an excellent 2 weeks of practice and he said he's very comfortable about him playing.

Yes I know what Gregg Williams said, but Comcast stated that Lavar would be seeing significant playing time, although they didn't specify when.

This sounds like a similar conversation fans were having last year in regards to Patrick Ramsey and Mark Brunell. When all was said and done, the coaching staff was right all along.

I find it a little hard to believe that the media would influence a coaching staff as seasoned as this one.
