A team that dumps veterans in this manner could end up in a losing rut that lasts a half decade.
I agree with you except the part about LaRon "dirty thirty" Landry not being a game changer. The dude is the best young safety out there and a top 5 safety in the league. He has the rare mix of speed and the ability to deliver the blow and I would have to say he is our most athletic player. But most of all he brings a certain swagger to the table, a swagger that not many have, the only other guy I can think of that had it was Sean T. It's that certain mentality of not caring who it is hes gonna take there head off, I believe he learned this along with alot of other things from Sean T. He has been close the past two years from making the pro bowl, its just a matter of time before this kid is one of the most elite safeties in the leage for years to come, and this matter of time is very very short.

I'm not sure what swagger you're talking about? Do you mean he swaggered back and forth after Jacobs ran over him?

Here's a new tidbit: Skins hired Chip Garber as Defensive Quality Control today.

Wednesday, February 11: Two Transactions - The Official Blog of The Washington Redskins

Probably not a bad aquasition when looking at his resume but again no NFL experience.

Also why are we keeping Westbrook? It's apparent he's not good enough to be active and has been relegated to practice squad 2 yrs straight. Some have come and gone and others have come and started. I hope we are not keeping him solely for the purpose of immitating his brother during practice cause that would be taking up a roster spot worse then Marcus Mason was.

A quality control guy is often someone who is new to the biz. It's sort of like a coach in training type of position.

I'm not sure what they see in Westbrook, but this is it for him. Either he makes the roster or he's gone.

Interesting that the 2 coaches hired appear to have strong Zorn ties, how does this fit in with the Snyderatto my way or highway crowd? Still no sign of a WR coach though

^I can't figure it out either. It's either Zorn putting something together from yrs past in hopes it works out like it did then or he's simply helping out friends. I would love to say it has everything to do with the fact they are brilliant minded and several NFL teams were looking to hire them and we got them which would mean our team should rock next year but I can't.

It's Zorn being given the freedom to choose the staff as he pleases and populating it to an extent with people he feels most comfortable working with.

Coaches surround themselves with "their guys". Not sure why anyone is surprised over this.

My surprise is that he's getting his guys in certain spots but not others i.e. for all the struggle our receivers have gone through i'd expect a "Zorn guy" for a WR coach... can't speak for anyone else though.

Apparently the fans are the only ones up in arms over Hixon. He's not going to be replaced so we might as well move on.

But a closed mouth doesn't get fed. We should continue to talk about it until he does get replaced. Hell, it stopped Fassel from becomming our HC.

I haven't heard anything definitive about Hixon staying on board... his continued employment will definitely dampen my enthusiasm for the upcoming season... i just don't understand how a guy w/ no proven track record, not single NFL WR ever developed under his tutelage, can be the best available option.

It's actually sort of mind-boggling IMO.
