Set it all aside -- Training Camp Begins
Quote:
Sounds realistic to me. But to me Griffin doesn't need to be great. With weapons like Reed and DJax all he has to do is be smart and distribute the ball, and a healthy dose of AlfMo. Last edited by MTK; 08-05-2014 at 07:04 PM. Reason: edit |

He really doesn't have to be great, but he might not really want to hear that. Granted this is a very small issue right now, I just don't like to see the coach and QB on a different page. Apparently Gruden would like to see RG throw the ball away more often in practice, instead of scrambling. However RG took the Iverson approach and said he'll throw it away in games, but it's just practice, and he'd rather practice his scrambling drill. Like I said, still not a huge issue, but I'd really like to see and hear my 3rd year QB more open to what his head coach has to say. http://www.csnwashington.com/redskin...hrow-ball-away Also mentioned it in the Boston Globe article linked in the post above: ■ RG3 did OK in the hurry-up offense, but refused to throw the ball away, which will be interesting to watch with him this year. He had a few nice scrambles to the outside and made some nice improvisational plays. He loves looking to Reed in the Red Zone.

Sounds like Ryan Grant impressed again today. Give this guy a few more years to add strength and he could be a really good receiver.

Re: Set it all aside -- Training Camp Begins
From Tuesday's practice, the report from the Boston Globe reporter. It's always good to get some views different than the local guys who see the team everyday and the national guys (not counting those who came to camp) who just sit on TV and talk in generalities.
Patriots practice report - Sports - The Boston Globe Mixed bag but pretty much what should be expected. Doesn't sound like we are on their level but didn't embarrass ourselves either. So ready for games to start.

Sounds like DJax may have sprained his left ankle.

Re: Set it all aside -- Training Camp Begins
The injury bug comes every year to every team. All sound minor.

Re: Set it all aside -- Training Camp Begins
listening to chris russell driving in to work this morning.
man that guy is bad. listened to him go on for 15 mins about how he was the only one saying the d jax signing was bad bc he is small and relies on speed and tends to get injured which takes away his speed element. the clincher for me turning the dial was when he said "i know a lot of redskins fans think he is going to be great a addition but i just dont see it working out that way .... given my track record and perspective, im right everytime" turned the dial, came back 15 mins later and he was still repeating his opinion of desean ad nauseum, saying he is just giving an honest and realistic opinion that is based on logic and reason .... to declare his contrarian opinion has been proven correct before desean has even taken a snap is unreal. |
