Re: Around the NFL- Week 2
Reading Peter King's Monday Morning QB. In his "Things I liked" portion of the column:
- "Carolina’s defense, through two weeks: 26 points allowed, and six of those quarters were played without Luke Kuechly." Yes - and four of them were against the Blake Bortles led Jacksonville, and four of them were against the Brian Hoer / Ryan Mallet led (and Arian Foster-less) Texans. How is that more impressive than the 20 pts. allowed by Skins against Miami and Rams? - "Aaron Donald. He has multiple “wow” plays every week, notably Sunday for throwing two linemen aside and sacking Kirk Cousins five minutes into their game." Great. How about the wow plays where he shot the gap looking for KC and M. Jones ran through his gap for 30+ yards and a TD? Or the fact that he and his linemates got run around, over and through by the Skins. - "Nick Foles to Kenny Britt, perfectly thrown into end zone traffic. Touchdown." Did I miss the part where the Rams actually lost the game?? B/c nothing positive the Skins did made the list. I am used to no respect as a Skins fan but, come on, a little credit would be nice. It's one of the reasons I hope the Skins come out hard and relentless on Thursday - just to have these talking heads stop thinking of the team as a joke.

Not his fault he played for the Jags. Actually makes what he did all the more impressive seeing as how teams did nothing but try and shut him down. Dude was a beast. |

Re: Around the NFL- Week 2
Hopefully we continue to be underestimated. I never thought or think that this team is a going to be great this year but I also never understood why everyone thought we were so terrible. With just decent QB play (a significant upgrade) we can be a mediocre type team overall on the rise.

And NFL Redzone I swear only broke to the game once and it was after the fact. There were times that the Skins were in the redzone and i was watching the Vikings at midfield? Wtf? Them and NFL gameday barely showed the boxscore?!? |

Re: Around the NFL- Week 2
You have to remember.. for the most part the Redskins are still fighting a bit of what the Patriots are, maybe it's a Boston curse, but we were so good for so long that there are a lot of people who grew up hating us. That doesn't go away. They love to see the Redskins struggle. Hopefully we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but some people just want to see us stay down.

I would like to buy into ur theory about us being hated for being so good for so long but um .... We are hated because of Snyder, and all of his raise the bar paychecks to over the hill superstars and countless other self induced bad press. Also more recently the nickname. When we were winning all those years ago we were not hated. Far from it. |

But what is true is I did not get the game so I was watching nfl network gameday and I watched at the very least an hr and 15 minutes straight without a single highlight from the skins game while watching highlights from the other games several times, was really pissing me off.

And the fact that MJD stuck it out with that terrible Jags team when he could've chased a payday said something for him as a person..

Re: Around the NFL- Week 2
The Colts OL is garbage and the Jets D is loaded, Luck has no time and is pressing. Offensive penalties are killing all their drives.
