I like Gregg Williams, it sort of sucks that he goes to a shit hole like Cleveland...

On the other hand, with an infusion of talent, maybe Cleveland stands a chance now. I like HueJack and wish them luck, it's time for them to get out of the bottom of the barrel.

I'm curious on Wilks. Only found one good article on him, where he was highly recommended. If he's legit, wouldn't mind a fresh mind with some passion to develop the team.. He's dealt with change in the Carolina secondary and developed players each year, including this year with two rookies..

Of those associated with us, would HATE Manusky, his resume stinks.
The one thing that stands out for me is everybody was talking about how bad Carolina's rookie corners were to start the season, but by the end of the season they were doing much better. Plus he was a big reason Norman blew up too. From the looks of it he is a good teacher, which we could definitely use. I just don't know how well he would fare calling the entire defense.

One guy that hasn't been mentioned but I think would make a great DC, Mike Vrabel.

He's never coordinated a defense but that is an intriguing name. How could you not like that guy after Hard Knocks?

Bradley is reportedly the early favorite for DC job in Washington. If they get him, I hope he brings Jonathan Cyprien their Safety. He had 128 tackles this season.

Anyone know how he rated? I've seen safeties have a lot of tackles before because it means that people were gashing them in the run game.

It is hard to say how good he is in pass coverage. I would like to see more PD and interceptions. At least we know he can tackle, probably a big improvement over who we have now.

Update, here is a list of PFF ratings He has the same rating as Eric Berry.

I would not mind Pettine at all. Of all the names mentioned he'd be second after Wade to me. He has had some solid defenses at every stop, NY Jets, Buffalo, and Cleveland

This is the way I've always seen it. Safeties should be the last resort, if they are making lots of tackles it means your front end is getting burned. But I'll give him credit for at least making tackles, I've seen our safeties bouncing off enough players to know we can't take tackling for granted.

Re: Gruden fires defensive coordinator Joe Barry

Everything has been silent since the Redskins have interviewed Mike Pettine. I know Gruden wants to take his time and get this right, but there's a fine line between taking your time and allowing your best choices to slip out of your hands. He's gotta be somewhat aggressive in getting that position filled.
