Re: Around the NFL Post Draft News.
I enjoyed the article in view of it's premise which he openly stated in his introductory paragraphs, as follows:
"This week, all week long, we're taking a brutal look at each of the teams in the NFC East, in detail. The first target on Monday was the mired-in-mediocrity Dallas Cowboys. On Tuesday, we roasted the garbage Giants. Today we'll tackle the always dysfunctional Washington Redskins. "To note, we will not be talking about the positives of any of the Eagles' NFC East rivals, because, well, that's no fun. This will be 100 percent vitriolic. And yes, we'll (try to) torch the Eagles at the end of the series as well, though again, I'm not sure exactly how just yet." The caption on the photo of Bruce Allen is worth seeing. He also slipped up and said some positive things about the Skins. Bottom line, he has a good argument, if a bit skewed, on all ten of his points. This article is aimed at the author's local readers, so it is infused with a typical Philly smart-ass, put-down, insulting flavor. |

Re: Around the NFL Post Draft News.
I like this guy he seems to understand the big picture for the players.
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/russell...185924289.html Russell Okung argues for NFL guaranteed contracts, but will players strike to get them? When you take a step back, it’s astounding that NFL players have so few guaranteed contracts. We all know how the game works by now. The team and player (and his agent) announce some ridiculously large contract terms, but the player actually sees a fraction of that total because the deal isn’t fully guaranteed. An NFL player can be cut loose on a whim, while MLB or NBA players are in a far less dangerous sport and don’t have a worry about their contracts. The NFL is the most popular sport in America and has far more physical danger than basketball or baseball, yet operates without the guaranteed contracts that are standard in MLB and NBA. Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Russell Okung, a NFLPA vice president who has long been a thoughtful voice for players’ rights, detailed in a long Twitter thread exactly why players need to fight for guaranteed deals. His points came as NBA players are signing the type of huge, guaranteed deals that NFL players should have secured a long time ago.

Re: Around the NFL Post Draft News.

The other sports are much more dependent on individual stars so the top group of players has generally had a lot of influence on the top contracts which has the effect of carrying down the line. The other sports dont have as large rosters, so in order to pump up the numbers on the top contracts the NFL owners claimed they had to have an out. Football players are much more likely not to finish a contract due to both drop off in play and injury so it has been easier to argue that full terms shouldnt be guaranteed. If they go to guaranteed contracts you will see much shorter lengths, like KCousins is. And the NFLPA is a substantially weaker union because so many of its active playing members know they only get so many years and a real strike likely takes one year away from their income. Thats not a thing to Aaron Rodgers or other superstars, but there are a lot of 20-23 year olds who see the loss of 500k in a year to stand up for the already rich players ability to get more money, or 30+ players who may only have 1 or two years left. Those two disparate groups create splits and dissensions that the owners can use against the union. |

Re: Around the NFL Post Draft News.
Someone is lying their ass off! He says he hasn't seen any of them for months ,she says this was done by him. Even if it wasn't him the NFL is going to nail him to the wall .........he's done.
The twitter post has been deleted accusing him .
