Another step towards the end of the "change the name" drama :
Poll of Native Americans view of Redskins name finds "Proud" as the most common answer

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
Jay Gruden said Colt McCoy was a little sore after Sunday’s practice. Said he’s not sure yet about him for Thursday night. McCoy still not quite 100 percent after his leg injury last December.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
Sorry for Colt, but I would rather Keenum and Haskins get all the reps in the next two games, then let Colt showcase himself for his next team in game 4

I think that's just abundance of caution.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
That injury Colt had was a lot more serious then they let on. It's been 8 or 9 months and he's still having issues, plus he had a 2nd procedure done.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
Yea he's probably done too, he never could stay healthy to begin with. It's Case and Dwayne's race now

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
I wish they'd stop with this Colt and Case nonsense. Just go all in on getting Haskins ready. Dumb the offense down, dumb the verbiage down, just get him ready to play. The kid has arm talent out the wazoo. Make it work.

IMO Colt is still injured and he should not be in the convo.

I hear what you are saying, but Jay seems to know that it is playoffs or bust for him.

Plus I think from a coaching stand point, you have to show your players you're doing every thing you can to win. These guys aren't doing long term politics, they're going onto the football field to win some games. Let whoever legitimately wins the QB battle in camp get the starting job. At least for the beginning of the season.

Yes, I'm aware that the Skins executives always claim that they're in the race and that they expect to go to the playoffs but I don't believe them. Just one look at our QB, WR and ILB positions will tell you that we're in a rebuild. I don't have a problem with rebuilding but I do have a problem with doing it in a half-assed way. Not extending Jay Gruden's contract and asking him to make the playoffs under the pressure of possibly losing his job is a disincentive to his playing the younger players to get them ready for years of legitimate future playoff runs. Wouldn't it be nice to hear some truth from Redskins executives and to see them provide a clear-cut direction for a HC who is not a perpetual lame duck? |
