WOW....we are trying to build a franchise for years to come, and we think that this guy is a good supplement to that?
There are reasons why the TO's of the world...RM's get passed around

It is sad. Considering we have the oldest team in the NFL, I would expect at least a few on our team would put him in his place if necessary.

If he wants one last big payday, this is not the way to go about it. I have to believe he cares in that regard.

Look at it this way....

Any and all talented #1 WR's in the NFL all have personality issues. I think its just an era thing and all the WR's that are big, talented, and money in this league have issues, in this day and age. But more importantly its how the HC's deal with the prima dona's.

Larry Fitz has issues? Anquan Boldin has issues? Puh-lease...

Looks like Merriman will be waived today according to Jay Glazer:

# Merriman is due $1.7 to 1.8 million remaining on this years. He should have no problem passing. If nobody claims him, longshot, he'll be UFA about 1 hour ago via ÜberTwitter

# Moss may not be only waiver wire name 2day. I'm reporting S Merriman slated to take physical w Bolts 2day.Once he passes he'll be waived too

That really is an ignorant statement. Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Miles Austin, Steve Smith (Giants), Greg Jennings, Calvin Johnson, Wes Welker, and Hines Ward are all #1 wideouts or former #1's in Ward's case who don't really have personality issues. Moss, T.O., Ocho Cinco, Brandon Marshall, Santonio Holmes, and Vincent Jackson are the only guys who really have that mentality imo.

Perhaps ignorance to one person is perception to another. If I'm not mistaken Boldin had his issues, Fitzgerald had someone ahead of him who had issues prior to this year... wait wasn't that Boldin? Dallas may have meant for Austin to be their #1 but Dez Bryant or Roy Williams would be my #1 and they have issues. Steve Smith wouldn't be the #1 with the Giants if Buress was still on the team, Buress = issues.

I think a lot of the names given are teams in the same boat as the Skins, we have a bonified #2 WR, like S.Moss, but not a #1. Any of the teams with a Rookie WR need to be given time for their play to swell their heads. As with any player who is one of the best at what they do, they have issues of some type.

This all boils down to what our definitions of #1 wideouts are. You apparantly believe a #1 wideout is a mythical being, that is consistently awesome week in and week out. I believe a #1 wideout is a guy who is just consistent. If he catches the majority of the targets thrown at him, and is always there on Sundays, well he's a #1 in my book. So by my definition Moss is a #1. And there's more names that could probably be added to that list. Roddy White is an elite wideout whose' name could go in there with the Andre Johnsons, and Dwayne Bowe/Steve Smith of the Panthers could probably join the T.O.'s of the list.

All I'm saying is that just because a select few #1 wideouts (they are #1 in my book, I'm not gonna debate that with you) have that I want the ball mentality, it doesn't make it right to generalize all wideouts like that. I'm sure there are plenty of guys on that list that would take the ball less if their teams won games.

Are you a #1 WR by chance?

No, but i did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

lol.... Ok not every #1 is mental but it's about 50/50. Maybe even more then 50/50 and I'm basing this off the fact that WR's back in the 80's and early 90's were for the most part well rounded players who were confident in their abilities and simply played the game. Sometime after that we started seeing all the big celebrations and dance moves, and that moved to the egotistical WR which constantly needs to up oneself each time on the field. Yes Ocho and T.O. are the biggest prime examples of this type of WR.

I can only hope that future WR's don't buy into this and think they are the best and have to be a better showmen but it seems like the trend will continue... Dez Bryant, the Eagles Desuan Jackson running his mouth about McNabb to the media...etc. etc.
