Oh dear, now I've gone cross eyed. Maybe I shouldn't have ben so rude as to answer your question with a question (I apologize).

I don't think I would go so far as to say that Gibbs has completely lost it because I really don't want to discount the playoff season last year. But our offense was obviously struggling at the end of the season. Maybe because our WRs were getting banged up and Brunell is older than the new mayor of DC. Either way Gibbs felt like he had to make a change. Bringing in Saunders, to me, is a sign that Gibbs thinks that he himself has lost it.

Maybe that was a bad move. Maybe we just needed to let Campbell do his thing, as well as bring in some new blood at WR and we would have been fine. Maybe if the D hadn't collapsed we'd be golden. I guess we'll never know.

I really don't know if Gibbs is the problem, but at the same time I don't know that he's really giving us the best chance to win. So basically, if Matty were to make his poll of should he stay or should he go (weird, that song was just on the radio) I doubt I would answer it.

Re: Im done....Gibbs must go.

Skins have been consistantly bad, the reason is the FO. Not the current coaches or personnel because the front office is what put everything in place, cannot blame coaches, can only blame FO for puttting the wrong people in place and giving the wrong people personnel decisions, and paying the wrong people the wrong amount of money. The consistency of the poor front office has led to the consistency of poor performance year after year. Gibbs cannot be blamed, and neither can Saunders or Williams, they were all proven coaches under OTHER front offices.

Who decided to make Gibb's president and head of personnel decisions...........Danny Boy, Gibb's is not a proven talent evaluator, But Snyder doesn't know any better. Maybe Gibb's didn't want to come back, and DAn convinced him.

The only reason Gibbs came back was his love for the franchise and the city. I strongly believe it had very little to do with Snyder as a person, although Gibbs more than likely has great regard for him. But I think it was all about the city and the team..and his desire to turn things around.

One thing's for sure, Joe Gibbs is a Redskin through and through. It's too bad he's having a tough time finding some to play for him.

I love having gibb's as coach, he's a great guy, with passion for the franchise, who doesn't listen to the media. He stays composed, and it's nice to not always be questoining our coach like I did with Spurrier.

I think what a lot of people struggle with on this issue is separating Joe Gibbs the coach from Joe Gibbs the man.

Even more people are having trouble separating Joe Gibbs the DC legend ('81-'92) from Joe Gibbs the current coach of the 4-8 Redskins ('04-).

Current coach & team prez, which he's never been before. As for coaching, I don't know if your statement's accurate, Gibbs II got us as far (2nd rnd playoffs) as we've been since Gibbs left in 93. He's still learning & has made some mistakes, but this is also on the job training for him as team president. I do believe strongly that he'll correct some of his mistakes, maintain the coaching staff & at least have a winning team next year.

Re: Im done....Gibbs must go.

This thread is garbage.

Criticizing Gibbs is fine, I do it too. But I can't fathom how a Redskins fan, especially one for 20 years, would ever want Gibbs to go.

I mean before Gibbs came back the big talk at the Warpath was whether we'd get Fassel or Dennis Green for chrst sake. Is your memory that short?

Look at last year's SB coaches. It took the great Bill Cowher 4 years to reach a Super Bowl and 14 years to finally win one. It took Holmgren 7 years to reach the SB with the Seahawks and he still hasn't won one. Even Norv Turner lasted 7 years here. And now some of you guys wanna throw Gibbs under the bus after 3 years?

Gibbs has tried to do everything to win now as well as set up the franchise for the future. He brought in top coaches who could take over the reigns down the road. He drafted a young QB for the future even though we already had 2 QBs on the roster. I mean what do you want from the guy? I find some of your attitudes towards Gibbs to be somewhere between disrespectful and blasphemous.

The day Gibbs came back was one of the happiest days of my life. And the day he decides to leave will be one of the saddest. I thank god and count my lucky stars every single day that he is at the helm, and so should you.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and here's mine:

To all the fickle, ungrateful fans who want Gibbs to go, I say this - be very careful what you wish for.

Re: Im done....Gibbs must go.

let me say this again...

HOW COULD IT BE ANY WORSE?! WE ARE 4-8! And 20-28 over the last 3 years. And we have the most talent we have had since the early '90's!

also, as paulskinsfan said... we have to watch teams like New Orleans, San Francisco, New York Jets, etc, etc, etc have success with new coaches.

I'm all for stability in the front office and coaching staff, but if and only if they prove that they are getting the job done! The 20-28 record is not because of lack of talent or anything else. It is b/c of COACHING!

I am sorry, Gibbs 2.0 is a failure. What makes you think we will be able to go 10-6 next year with the same exact group and coaching staff? I don't understand the optimism!

And look at what coaches in New Orleans and the NY Jets have done in 1 year. Look at what Nolan has done in SF in 2 years. All of them started with less talent than Gibbs. It would be one thing if we had young talent waiting in the wings, but we don't. The man has squandered 3 drafts and made lousy free agency moves to get us to this pathetic record. Its easy to keep riding the "I have faith in Gibbs train" but you would never ever cut any other coach this much slack. So if you have so much faith, prove to me that he has this franchise moving in the right direction after 3 years.
