Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020

I’m still butt hurt that we didn’t get Hooper. I think Rivera was really focused on Cooper and thought if they just out-bid Dallas that we could get him. But there are no taxes in Texas and it’s not like Washington or Snyder has a good reputation in the NFL. The Redskins could not get both Cooper and Hooper so their money was there for Amari and Cleveland wanted Hooper badly and Hooper wanted to go there .

The rest of FA has been pretty much a non-event for the Redskins. It’m glad to see Fuller come back and I think he will shine here.

I was pretty sure that Trent was gone, but an unintentional benefit of the Cooper non-signing was that he could stay here if Trent would drop his price. A possibility, although if it happens it will be much closer to the draft. If we get the second round pick, it will go toward a TE.

Glad we didn't sign him. It would be the type of signing like so many we've had around here. It's great when the deal is done, then in 2 years when he has 50 catches for 550 yards and 4 td's everyone would be pissed off and call it another FA bust. We can easily find someone in the draft that is as good or better than Hooper and pay that person on a rookie deal.

100% agreed. Let's stop acting like Ebron and Hooper are Gronk and Kelce already.

That being said, TE is the only spot that I'm worried about, so I hope they have a legit plan in FA.

Compared what the Redskins have paid the last couple years for the production at the tight end position those guys are Gronk and Kelce. It would take a major screw up not to improve that position.

They paid for that production on past production. Reed was basically paid off of his jaw dropping potential and I believe 2015. And Davis had been around a long time and could still run.

Hooper hasn't had a year close to what Reed did in 2015, but maybe that's cause he isn't the first option. But he simply doesn't have the elite skill set that Reed or Davis had.

DH was literally set up for failure. He got drafted to a bad team, by a lame duck HC that didn't want him, that did zero to set him up for success.

And by the end of the season he was still balling.

Coming out of the draft he was a smart football guy and he clearly has all the physical talent needed for the position.

Him not starting next year is another huge black eye on this franchise.

Give the man some protection and some weapons.

Still giving RR the benefit of the doubt. He's pushing the right buttons on Haskins.

This is true my man and honestly if we weren't sitting there at #2 I wouldn't even talk about Tua. Dwayne will be motivated (he should be) to come in and bust his ass to win the starting job.

What's the latest on Smith? Cause we've been really quiet on the QB front. Maybe he's ready to come in and compete w/ Haskins.

If DH can't beat out a crippled 36 Y/O we are in trouble lol.

I don't see why he's even risking further damage

He is probably ready to be a backup by the start of the season, but I haven't seen anything official

He’s just sitting out there eating away at our salary cap. The way I see it, his salary cap usage is escrow for Roullier and Allen extension money

I can't see Smith getting cleared medically to play.

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020

Is best case scenario is post June 1st, Alex announces retirement due to injury and then we can apply the injury insurance Bruce and Eric placed on the contract? Isn’t that 12 million we can apply to reduce the cap impact?

S10 may have to help me out here...
