Exactly lol, they act like they didn't try and win those 24 in a row.. It's fine but just be real and admit it

The Sam Howell Thread

All I know is this is the third time we have seen Sam take the field and the third time he impressed. One was last year with Scott Turner against a playoff team that wanted to win.

We have a new owner and a good quarterback. I thought I might never be able to say either of those things.

O-line looked pretty good last night. While it wasn't against the 1s, for the most part Howell had a clean pocket. I think he was sacked twice, and both sacks were on him.

More work to be done. They have some time to gel before facing a formidable D-line, at which time we'll be able to make a better determination as to how good they are. I thought it was at least - encouraging.

I'm betting we pick-up at least 1 OL from the waiver wire once rosters are officially cut-down to 53.

Couldn't hurt to add at OL and LB.

If we have all new linebackers on the roster next year, I wouldn't be upset at all. That position needs a complete re-boot.

So strange when the HC and DC were … linebackers.

Risner is still out there...

LB looks thin though; who's out there likely to displace a current starter?

Risner would be an upgrade. I'm not sure exactly what he's waiting for, to be honest. I feel like he's betting that some team will be desperate enough to overpay him, because a key O-lineman goes down with an injury. He'll probably have a job soon, but I doubt it's here. I haven't heard anywhere that we are interested.

LB - yeah no one out there currently is better than what we have probably. Would have to see who gets cut over the next couple weeks to see if anyone makes sense.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

We are most likely not finding any real upgrades at OL or LB until next offseason. But it’s ok. This thing is just getting started. The first and most important, and at one point in time seemingly impossible thing, is done. We got rid of the stink that was Snyder. Great things are coming. Namely a football team that doesn’t fill its seats with opposing fans and make headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Hopefully now we can concentrate on the team only and we address the oline and lb corp. We have a great core of guys here. Including a quarterback!

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Honestly cannot see them changing the OL at all, one of Ron's failings is being overly loyal, great in life bad in competitive sports. Only guy who could get jettisoned is Trenton Scott, and we have a 4th round project OT who might not even make the team

For the last 4 years they have had so many opportunities to improve the LB group, but they keep ignoring it. Not going to happen. I cannot even see J.Davis getting a second contract.

This regime has made it clear that the resources on defense are going to the guys upfront.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

I love that Howell steps up and takes total responsibility for the sacks. If he keeps that up, his Oline will only fight harder to protect him.
